Chapter 21
"Don't we all."
**

J's POV

I watch as V enters the room. A loud bang is followed by a click. The doors are locked, that's not a good sign. My heart rate speeds, she is in there alone. I grab my phone from my pocket and call Phoenix. It rings for what feels like hours before he picks up.

"Did you get V?"

Wow, geez I'm fine thanks for asking. I hear gun fire in the background on Phoenix's end. I huff, "yeah."

"Great now get-"

"But," I interrupted him.

He goes silent, the only way I know he didn't hang up is from the gunfire.

"But what," he growls. I would hate to see his face when I tell him this.

"She has to get Shawn from Coleman. She's in his office getting him."

He goes silent again. My brow furrows, I'm starting to believe he did hang up. Maybe I'm just hearing the gunfire from down the hall. This hall is still empty, not a soul in sight. He finally speaks, confirming his present.

"We have Shawn."

"What!?" Fear claws out my insides. I glance around the corner, watching the double doors for any sign of life. The doors never open, no matter how much I hope. She is in there trying to get her brother from somebody that doesn't have him. My breath becomes rigid from fear.

"Phoenix get down here, now. Bring back up." Before he replies I hang up, slipping my phone in my back pocket. I stand from my crouched position and make my way towards the door. I stop a few feet away. I can't do this alone, I'll need back up. The doors are locked anyways, we'll have to pick it. I hear a sudden thump and my heart rate skyrockets. I don't give a crap about back up. They get here when they get here. I run towards the door and through my whole body against the door. It doesn't budge, I rub my shoulder. Is this door even made from wood, more like bricks. I look around the edge of the door to see any chances of getting in. And I come up with nothing.

I growl and pull out my gun. I point it at the door handle and fire. I drop to the floor as the bullet ricochets off the handle. I sigh when I know the bullet as found its way into a wall. I look around the empty hall for anything to help open the door. I then here another crash in the room that sounds like glass. I here a yell of pain, but I can't make out who it's from. My breath comes out in pants as I look around for anything. I probably look like a mad man, but I could care a less right now. I here footsteps coming, a lot.

At least thirty police found the corner with Phoenix, Axel, and Shepherd leading them. I smile, but it doesn't hang around for long. A police man pulls out some kind of lock pick and works on the lock. I turn to the guys, they all have the same look I do.

Worry, fear, anger, sadness, pretty much every bad emotion that every existed. I here a click and we bust into the room. A warm gust of wind hits my face. Coleman lays on the floor, knocked out cold. But V is no where in sight.

"Search the room," a police with a deep voice orders at his men. I'm guessing he is the man in charge. Suddenly something catches my eye. I walk over to the closest wall and bend down. I examined the crack that runs up the concrete wall. Another to the right of it run to the ceiling. This isn't just a crack, it's a-

"Door," I turn to look at Phoenix. His face shows admiration, but also anger.

"How do we open it?" Axel comes up with the most obvious question.

"Yea, I think we're all wondering that Mr obvious." Axel glares at me as Phoenix ignores us. Shepherd hangs out with the police who shouts orders. He smiles as he watches the man, I roll my eyes.
