Beam had a fixed-look with the eyes wide open to a book that he had just received an hour ago after the first freshmen gathering in the Faculty of Engineering.

It wasn't an ordinary book. The Second Year Hazing Team referred it as a Signature Book. They were told to fill it up with their seniors' signatures in a span of seven days.

He would not even be bothered if it was just a hundred signatures or so, but good heavens, they, freshmen, were told to collect 1000 signatures! For seven days?! Of course, it's freaking the hell out of him!

He wasn't born yesterday not to figure out that he would surely have to do some embarrassing orders from his seniors just to have them signed up.

He knew there and then during the freshmen gathering that getting into this faculty wasn't a piece of cake.

Beam couldn't help but let out a deep sigh. He couldn't still believe what his parents put him into. He wanted to take up Medicine, for Pete's sake, just like his cousin, Phana, and bestfriend, Kit. But, his parents literally dragged him into this hell. He could still remember what his father had told him a week ago.

"No, Beam! Not this time! Whether you like it or not, you are going to study Engineering! And that's final!" said Mr. Baramee with finality in his tone.

He wanted to scream. For the first time, he felt helpless. All his life, his parents had given him everything that he wanted and desired. Yes, he was a spoiled brat. Why not? He was the only child to a filthy rich couple in the country.

He was pretty sure that his parents loved him that they were willing to give anything and everything that could make him happy. Why not this time? Why did they force him to take up Engineering? Something's odd. He knew, but didn't have the slightest idea at all.

Beam knew that there's nothing he could do, so he just went on with the flow.

He took a deep breath, and apathetically scanned his surroundings. The entire food court, that he was in at that particular hour, was crowded with freshmen pleading to their seniors for signature.

Not only at the food court, but also anywhere in the building of the Faculty of Engineering that his eyes could reach on.

Everyone was too keyed up over the collecting signatures thing at all cost. One should be so as to have a peaceful and enjoyable freshman days for the rest of the year.

It was just the beginning of the school year. Would he survive? Definitely! He wasn't and would not be a quitter as long as he was still breathing.

"Where will I start?" Beam mumbled to himself. He sighed and continued looking around.

Beam had never actually experienced asking anyone for anything, because even before he uttered a word, it was already offered and given to him.

So, obviously, Beam admitted defeat for the first time. Time to humble himself if he didn't want to be punished for failing the first task ordered to them by the Second Year Hazing Team.

With that thought and without falter steps, Beam pulled his ass off his seat and headed towards the man who was taking a nap on the bench under the old shady tree.

Beam didn't understand himself why of all people he chose to approach the man who's sleeping, for God's sake. But, there's something that's pulling him towards the man.

"Weird," Beam uttered to himself as he shrugged over the strangeness that he felt at that moment.

He took another look at the man who was now in front of him.

The man was wearing a black muscle tee over a blue jacket with the emblem of the Faculty of Engineering and a black denim pants. He believed that this man was his senior because all the freshmen were wearing white long sleeves with a black tie and a pair of black pants. So, the man was either in the fourth or fifth year. During the freshman gathering, all the third year hazers were wearing a red jacket while the second year hazers were wearing a red arm band.

Beam could tell in a glimpse that the man was a heartthrob in this faculty even if his left arm was covering half of his face, while the other arm was used as his pillow. Obviously, he had a well-built body and a handsome face even with that position. He had this aura of dominance, an Alpha in a pack of werewolves.

"Su su na, Beam!" Beam cheered himself on before putting a sweet smile on his lips. Getting cold feet was absolutely not an option at all. "It's now or never."
