Beca's Choice

Talent.

One month later...

It had been a month since Chloe's party, where Beca's life became a lot more confusing than she wanted it to be. She had begun seeing Emily the night after. It was great.  Emily was great. cute when she wants to be, but she felt her sarcasm was a close match to hers. making the humor bounce off each other. The two were now walking through the hallway, hand in hand as they stroll towards the courtyard, where they usually had their lunch with their friends. Emily glances over at Beca, a large smile plastered on her face. "You look so stupid when you just smile at me" Beca comments with  side glance. Emily rolls her eyes as they reach the courtyard, the two joining their friends. Emily sat next to Aubrey, and Beca sat with Chloe. "Have you heard?" Jesse asks Beca, who looks at him with a blank expression. "That's a no" he comments to himself. "The school is having a musical talent show, and the winners go onto a national competition to win some money or a holiday?" Jesse tells the group. both Chloe and Beca perk up, both being into music. The two share a quick smile with each other, reading each others mind. Chloe's light river-like blue eyes lock with Beca's, her beautiful soul burned through her eyes, everyone could see it. the kindness and love that bled through her eyes. Beca coughs awkwardly as she pulls out her sandwich from her bag. As she goes to eat the sandwich, she hears a sneer comment from behind her. "Dyke" a voice calls from behind her. Beca could take alot, but Homophobic slurs wasn't one of them. Her blood boiled, reaching scolding temperature within a second. She spins and launches herself at the person who called her what she did without a second thought. Her rage bubbling inside her, like it was burning her blood. It was some girl called Clary. Beca landed a quick jab into the stomach, causing the girl to stumble in pain. "Fight like a guy, what a surprise" Clary sneers. Before Beca can even retort, a hand grips Clary's hair and rags it over to them, as their face is forced into their fist, sending them to the floor with a scream. Chloe stood over Clary, a few strands of the blonde hair in his clenched fists, Chloe's face warped with a smile. She crouches down to Clary, her nose bleeding with tears streaming Down in pure anger. "Don't insult my friends" Chloe tells Clary with an evil gentleness to her voice. before the teachers come and split the three up. 

Beca and Chloe were put into the same detention room straight away, Clary put into another room they guessed, or she yad been excluded. The principal was very clear that the violence would not be tolerated, but with it being the first time and under the circumstance, he let them off with a detention. Beca tapped her pen idly on the table, where Chloe hummed along to a rhythm. "So.... when Jesse mentioned the competition. were you interested in doing it?" Beca asks, her eyes switching from the pen to Chloe who was sat at the desk beside her. Chloe nods. "Yeah... I was going to ask if you wanted to do it as a duet?" Chloe asks Beca, who barely took anytime to think about it. "YES!" Beca responds enthusiastically, rather surprising for Beca. Chloe claps her hands in excitement.  

After Detention, the two checked online for the rules. "So we need two covers and two original songs. a cover and original for the school performance and the other two for nationals" Beca explains to Chloe after reading up online about it. Chloe nods slowly. "Well, i think we need to see how we match. and then go from there... You free now?" She asked Beca, who nods. "Yeah. I was just going to go home and binge watch Shadowhunters, so" Beca admits, Chloe smiles slightly "Nerd" she comments as the two make their way to Chloe's house.

The two walk through the front door, Beca shrugging her jacket off and placing it on the start of the handle of the staircase, Chloe does the same as they head upstairs. Chloe sighs in relief as she falls into her bed, arms and legs wide as she does, hugging her covers. "Oh, I'll never leave you again" she says to her bed, Causing Beca to chuckle. "You're so weird" Beca comments on the redhead as she sits on the corner of the bed, where Chloe wasn't occupying.  Beca glances over at Chloe and smiles to herself. she looked cute, she thought. all innocent. her red hair was sprawled all across the bed, like an explosion from her head. Beca smacks her leg, causing her to raise up and glare at Beca. "You asked me over to find a song, not to watch you sleep" Beca says. Chloe groans dramatically as she walks over to her desk and launches her computer. Beca comes over, resting her hand in the back of her chair and the desk.
