Chapter 11

Nigel

I decided to leave school early since it was the last day and Crys' birthday. What Crys said really got me upset too. I get it. She and Carter were together for a long time and all he did was play her and she scared imma do the same thing. But I'm not. I'm not gonna do that to the girl that I love.

I texted Crys and told her I wouldn't be in lunch and I would just pick her up from school. I pray she doesn't get into another argue with Carter. Eventually I'm gonna have to fight that nigga if he ever talks out his neck and I don't wanna do that. I felt my phone vibrating and it was my father so I answered.

"Hey what up?"
"Hey son, I was thinking what if we have a family day tomorrow? Like me, you, and Nyla. You can bring that girl that you're dating cause we'd love to meet her."
"Yea dad that sounds cool. I'll see if she's up for it."
"Aii. You talk to your mother lately? I've been trying to check on her and make sure she's okay but I think she has me blocked." I began to chuckle. My mother was a petty ass woman so I know for a fact that she has him blocked.
"Yea I talked to her last night. She's doing good and has cut down on the drinking. She said she'll probably be up for Nyla's birthday and probably won't be back until Thanksgiving."
"Oh okay. Well next time you talk to her tell her to hit me up. Or whatever you kids say nowadays. I have a meeting so I have to go. Be safe and don't make me no grandfather yet. Love you son."
"Aii love you too pops."

I honestly consider my dad to be one of my bestfriends. He was cool as hell and anyone who meets him loves him. I honestly think his only flaw is not knowing how to be loyal.

I decided to call the restaurant that I'm supposed to be taking Crys to for her dinner to make sure we still had reservations. I wanna treat  her like a queen on this special day. She's finally legal and starting tomorrow she wants to start looking at apartments. I called Stephanie and Trey to make sure they were also going bowling with us after. Stephanie is only a few weeks pregnant and she's already showing some symptoms. She's always hungry and always sick. So talking her into coming out of the house was challenging.

After making sure everything was set I decided to go home and take a nap.

I rolled over and looked at my phone to see that it was 3:38. I quickly jumped up and ran to my car to pick up Crystal. I had several messages from her asking where i was. I can't believe I didn't hear my alarm when it went off. I pulled up to the school and saw her on the steps talking to Carter. I didn't say anything for awhile and just sat and watched them. She was laughing and giggling like she was having the time of her life. Feeling my jealousy approaching I got out of the car.

"Crystal,baby girl I'm so sorry I took a nap and-"
"It's fine. Just happy you didn't stand me up." She gave me a kiss on the cheek and walked to the car. I stared at Carter for awhile and then he began to speak.
"Shouldn't do stuff like that Nigel. You know if you hurt her she'll be back with me. And you know I can't wait." He began to walk past me and I grabbed him by his shirt.
"I don't give a fuck if you think she gonna come back to you. But I know you gonna stay the hell away from her."

I turned around and walked to my car. We drove in silence for awhile before Crystal spoke.
"I know why you came late. It's okay. I get it. You were mad so you wanted to be petty."
"I wasn't mad anymore. I went home and fell asleep. I set an alarm but it didn't go off. No matter how mad I am I will always be there for you. Always."
I felt her look over at me and smile.

I pulled up to her house and she gave me a confused look.
"This is the last place I wanna be for my birthday."
"I know but dinner isn't until 6:30 and it's only 4. So we can just chill until it's time to leave."

She gave me a look and got out the car. We walked into her house and sat on the couch. She climbed on top of me and began to kiss me on my jawline and neck.
"Crystal you know you doing something very dangerous right now." She began to chuckle.
"We have two hours until we leave and technically we both adults so. Let's have some fun." She kept kissing me and I lifted her up and went into her room.
"Aii look." I pointed at her bed and she looked at it. Then she looked up at me. On her bed, there was pink,white, and red rose petals. There was a big heart pillow and on top of it was a pink box.
"Nigel what the hell?" She began to smile and went and opened the box. Inside was a small pink velvet photo album with pictures of us and Trey and Stephanie. There was also some of her favorite candies and a pandora bracelet.
"Aw babe. This is so cute. Seriously how much money did you spend on my birthday?"
"Actually everything in that box is from me,Trey and Steph."
She wiped a tear from her cheek and began to smile really hard.
"This birthday is unforgettable. This is the best day of my life."
She came over to me and gave me a long, tight hug. I kissed her forehead.
"So I say we take a nice quick nap before we go out to eat."
"Boy it's gonna take this whole time to get ready. You can take a nap tho. Or you could join me in the shower?" She had a devilish smirk on her face.
"Nah I think we should save all this good dick for your birthday night." I gave her a long kiss and went and laid in her bed.
