Chapter 16

Crystal

4 months later

"Baby I like that one." I said while I pointed at the beautiful diamond halo ring. Nigel and I were window shopping for our apartment and ended up in Kay Jewelers.
"You want it?"
"You buying it?" I looked at him in shock
"I mean if you want it yea."
"Boy lest graduate before you try to put a ring on it please."

We walked around the mall a little longer until we saw Nyla at the food court. When she saw us she ran over into Nigel's arms.
"Aye look at my favorite sister. I've missed you so much."
"I've missed you to Nigel. Come visit me more." She looked up at me and gave me a polite smile. Nyla and I don't have a relationship but we're slowly working on it for Nigel's sake.

"You going to all your classes."
"Yea but I don't be seeing you in yours."
"Cause we're seniors and barely have any. I have 5 and she has 6 so we both leave early in the day."
"I can't believe your about to graduate and go to college."
"How you think I feel?" Nigel began to chuckle.

Watching Nyla and Nigel hang out is always so cute to me. I love their relationship and makes me even sadder about the fact that I'm an only child. I would love to have an older brother or sister. Maybe if I did my life would have gone better.

After walking around with Nyla, we brought her back to her house and went home. When I walked in the house I saw rose petals and candles everywhere. I looked up at Nigel and he looked at me with a smile.
"Babe it isn't our anniversary is it?"
"Nah babygirl this is just my way of showing I love you. You're amazing and everything I could ask for." We shared a nice and slow kiss. He grabbed my hand and guided me to the bedroom. There were balloons that spelled love and more rose petals on the bed.

"Baby listen this is so beautiful and there's nothing more I wanna do than make love to you right now but I'm on my period." He began to laugh and I gave him a confused.

"Babe we don't have to have sex. We can curl up and watch some Netflix or we can study together. Whatever makes you happy." He began to take off his shirt and walked over to his closet. I watched him in amazement just wondering how I found someone like him. Can't believe I dubbed him for all those years.

Flashback
Carter and I were up all night arguing so I'm exhausted as hell in class today. I didn't even realize it but I fell asleep on Nigel's shoulder. After class I ran and found Steph so we could go to lunch together. During lunch, Trey and Nigel came over to us.

"Hello sleeping beauty and her beautiful friend."  They sat their trays down and sat across from us.

"Yo Crys you okay? You never fall asleep in class. I actually had to stay up and learn so one of us would have the notes." We all began to chuckle.

"Yes I'm fine. I have a question for you two." Trey and Nigel looked over at me and Steph got a smirk on her face.
"I already know the question and answer. Their answer is gonna be good."

I rolled my eyes. "If your girl had her period and ya couldn't smash would ya be mad?"
"Hell no. We don't have to have sex. We can just talk." Trey said while eating.
"Facts bro or shit you want a tummy rub or something." Nigel said

Crystal snickered. "Now these fine young men were raised right."
"Why you ask?" Nigel had a concerned look on his face. He was always getting worried about me.
"Nothing it's just yesterday was Carter's birthday and he wanted to have sex but I'm on my period. We got in an argument cause he was still expecting me to give him head. Like damn nigga let me be in pain in peace!"
Nigel and Trey shook there heads.

"As you're friends we are allowed to tell you that your nigga ain't shot but you don't ever listen to us so it's whatever." Steph said with a tone as she shrugged her shoulders. I'm tired of my friends talking about Carter as if he's all bad. He has some good with him too. I'll just apologize and it'll be over.

Flashback Over

I heard my alarm go off and saw that it was already 6. Going to work and school is honestly the worst thing ever. I looked over at Nigel and saw that he was peacefully asleep. I began to lightly tap him because I know that if he doesn't wake up now then we'll be late.
"Babes." Nothing. I tapped him harder.
"Baby." Nothing. I tapped him even harder.
"Nigel wake the fuck up." Nothing. So I had no choice but to push him off the bed. He let out a load groan before pulling himself back up.
"What the fuck man. It's to early to be playing with you."
"We have to go to school and I have to drop off my time sheet and you promised you'd wake up early enough so you can take me." I got out of bed and went into my closet. The whole time I was in there I heard cursing me out and saying how he hates dealing with me in the morning.

I began to giggle because he was always at his angriest in the morning. I decided to throw on some black leggings with a black shirt and my black and gold Nike's. Soon after getting dress I felt Nigel's arms wrap around my waist.

"Is the baby done throwing his fit?" I asked in an annoying way. He kissed me on the cheek and smacked my butt.
"Yea I guess. You ready?"
"I still have to brush my teeth and do my hair."
"See you're the reason why we have to wake up so early. It took me 15 minutes and I'm ready. And it's gonna take you another 15 minutes to do basic shit." He walked away and into the kitchen. I rolled my eyes and did all my morning hygiene stuff and tied my hair into a messy bun.

When I went in the kitchen I saw Nigel looking at his phone with a strange face.
"What's wrong baby?"
"Steph is in the hospital."
