Chapter 15

1 Month later

Crystal

So it's been two weeks since Nigel and I have bought our first apartment together. We finally have all of our furniture so we're inviting Stephanie and Trey over for dinner tonight.

Trey and Stephanie just bought an apartment together because Stephanie's kicked her out over something dumb. Steph is about to hit her third month and she already has a little bump and it is so adorable.

I paid Linda the money I owed her for rent and told her I wished her the best in life. She told me to never contact her and how I was gonna end up just like my mother in life. Of course that hurt me but I kept it together and didn't say anything back.

"Baby girl, we just got our first apartment together and we haven't even graduated high school yet." Nigel came and sat next to me on the couch and gave me a kiss on the forehead.
I'm a little nervous about living with a man and having so many bills to pay. But I just got a job as a CNA because I took the classes and I'm supposed to make 450$ a week which will definitely help with the bills. Nigel works at his dads law firm and gets paid a little more than me. I'm so excited for our future together.

"Babe I know what I wanna go to college for." Nigel looked at me in shock.
"I thought you didn't wanna go to college and school was trash and blah blah blah." He said mockingly.
"Shut up. Anyways after decorating the apartment I've realized I wanna be an interior designer. It was so much fun and I could see myself doing it for the rest of my life."

"Well I'm happy you wanna do something that you enjoy in life. So you gonna be an interior designer and I'm gonna be a partner at my dads law firm. Damn we finna be rich."
I chuckled and got up from the couch and went into the kitchen.

It was going on 3:45 and Steph and Trey said they'd be here at 5 so I wanted to start cooking. I decided to make my famous sesame shrimp. I began to cut up some onions, red peppers, green peppers, and yellow peppers. I took some shrimp out of the fridge and began to take them out the shell. After I let the peppers and onions fry I placed the shrimp in the pan. I put honey, soy sauce,ginger and sesame seeds in a pan and began to slowly stir. I made white rice and soon my food was done. By the time the food was done it was 4:30 so I decided to take a quick shower.

I pinned my hair up in a bun and threw on some shorts and a tank top. Nigel and I haven't bought an air conditioner yet so it's been hot as hell in this apartment.

When I came out of our bedroom I saw Nigel setting up the table.
"Aw well aren't you a gentleman."
He looked up at me and smiled. I heard the doorbell ring so I ran to the door.

"Welcome to our home!" I said as I swung the door open with my hands up in the air. Trey gave me a quick hug and kiss on the cheek. Most people would be mad as hell that their nigga just gave their bestfriend a kiss on the cheek but Steph knew what it was. I always looked at Trey as that cool ass brother who would let you get away with murder.

Steph ran into my arms and gave me a bear hug. Her little bump was stopping her from hugging me as tight as she wanted.
"Mami I've miss your sexy ass so much girl. When I drop this baby we going out and being hoes again!" Trey and Nigel gave us both a look which caused us to giggle.

After showing them the apartment we all sat down at the table and began to eat.
"Damn Nigel you lucky Crys cooks for you like this. I damn there be having to beg Steph to make me some eggs." Nigel and I chuckled while Steph smacked Trey's shoulder.

"Boy es mejor que cierres la boca antes de que te jodan" Trey shook his head and continued eating his food. Steph cursed him out in Spanish so much that we all basically knew what she said.
"Anyways ya we gonna find out the gender of the baby at our next appointment."
"Are you gonna have a gender reveal?"
"For what? All the people I care about knowing the gender is at this table."
Nigel and I smiled as we looked at Steph and Trey. Stephanie becoming pregnant definitely made them closer. They actually looked in love and it was the cutest thing. Seeing Steph happy made me ecstatic.

"Nigel when you putting a baby in my girl?." I choked on my water while Nigel chuckled.
"Stephanie, Crystal not getting knocked up until we outta school, college included, own our own house, and she got a big ass rock on her finger." I smiled and nodded my head in agreeance.

After we finished our food we decided to watch Black Panther for the thousandth time but that didn't last long cause Steph fell asleep like five minutes in. After Trey and Stephanie left, Nigel took a shower while I cleaned up the kitchen.
I was trying to put pans in the cabinet but couldn't reach so I decided to climb the counter. Soon after doing that I felt someone tapping my ass.

"Nigel my ass is not a drum." I said with a smirk.
"I know but it's just so jiggly. Like it goes jiggle jiggle jiggle." I busted out in laughter and got down from the counter top. Nigel lifted me back on top of it so he was in between my legs.

"Girl that baby might come sooner than planned." He began to kiss on my neck.
"If that baby comes before I'm 25 I'm fighting your ass word to." He chuckled and walked into the bedroom.

I followed after him and was soon wrapped in his arms while falling asleep. I've never felt so happy and content in my life. I just pray that nothing changes this.
