day two

Luna fancied Gilbert, she'd be a fool if she didn't. Gilbert had every single girl falling at his feet, with the exception of Anne, but why did he pick her? There were girls much prettier than her, she knew that, but he always had eyes for her. She always grew curious as to why it was her out of everyone in Avonlea, maybe it was a bet that Billy Andrews gave him, or maybe he liked seeing the way she reacted around him. One thing is for sure though, she always kept her guard up around him.

When Gilbert left Avonlea a little while ago Luna was heartbroken. She never admitted it though, she let her pride take over her emotions. So when anyone would mention the Blythe boy, she never once faltered or shut down in her case. She always kept her guard up, always holding her head up high, fearing that her past would catch up to her and knock her down. It never did though, to this day no one knew the truth about her little brother, with the exception of her family who chose to keep it a secret.

It's not like they were ashamed of the younger Geraldo, they adored Theodore so very much. They were ashamed of how his sudden death came to be. Luna was still a young girl when it happened, but she remembers every second of that day as if it were just yesterday. To the eyes of the town, Theodore Geraldo died of natural causes, but to the eyes of the Geraldo's, it all happened differently.

When Luna was 7 years old and Theo was barely 2, she thought it was a good idea to take him swimming. The boy barely knew how to swim in a bath tub, let alone a lake where the possibilities were endless. Luna didn't stop to think about her little brother, for all she had her eyes on was the adventure she would gain from it. As soon as they jumped in Theodore was already crying for help trying to stay afloat, but poor Luna was too far to catch up to him in time. As soon as she got to the small boy, his body had already gone limp, and he had stopped breathing. Luna's parents were so overwhelmed at the event that they didn't think about how to punish Luna, that was until she grew older where her punishment began. Everyday Luna suffered, only recently had it gotten better. Still, everyday she thinks about him, in the blink of an eye her little brother was gone. Not a day goes by that she doesn't miss him of course.

"Hello Gilbert" the brunette smiled as the hazel eyed boy accompanied her on their walk to school. "Hello Luna, I was wondering if you wanted to go to Charlotte Town after school to get some things with me." "I'd love to. Anything in particular that you're getting?" "Nothing really, just some medicine for Bash" Gilbert chuckled remembering the events from earlier that day when Bash asked for his assistance in removing his sore tooth. "Bash is a funny man, I'm glad you brought him to Avonlea" Luna smiled thinking back to the day she first met Bash. He was in awe at her beauty as he kept babbling, telling the young girl about how in love Gilbert was with her and that he could see why. "Yeah I'm glad too" he responded, chuckling at the mention of his friend.

"Hey Luna, you sure do look pretty today" Billy smirked as he knew exactly what he was doing to the girl. "Billy please stop" she replied as she pushed his hands off her. "I just was a little kiss" Billy wouldn't stop no matter what she had said. "Billy please" Luna was scared to say the least, she had no idea what to do in the moment, so she froze. "I believe she said stop Billy" that voice. she knew who that was, she was just too scared to register who her rescuer was. "What? Oh you're jealous cause she wants me and not you? Well news flash Gilbert Blythe, she'll never want you" A look of hurt spread across Gilbert's face as he said those words, but his expression quickly changed as he charged towards Billy and gave him one good punch in the nose. "She said stop" Gilbert sternly said as the Andrews boy was quick to rise to his feet and walk away. "Are you okay? did he hurt you" he quickly did a check just to make sure she wasn't hurt in any way. "I'm okay, thank you Gilbert" she immediately engulfed him in a hug, she was so very grateful for the Blythe boy who was head over heels for her. He of course had a small smile on his face as he hugged her back, "I'll always protect you" he whispered so only she could hear.

As soon as the two arrived in Charlotte Town, Gilbert immediately dragged Luna to the pharmacy where they retrieved the medicine for Bash. After they had run the most important errand of the day, the two roamed around the town laughing at anything and everything until they came across a small coffee shop, where they decided to take a break. "I've got to say Gilbert Blythe, you are a lot of fun to be around" the girl complimented as she laughed at the older boy who began making faces at her. "Why thank you Miss Geraldo, I would also like to say that you provide great company to a lonesome boy like myself" he laughed as well when he complimented the girl. "Well then, we should head home" she began to stand up as she took the boys hand and left the small shop.

She had to admit, the day started out terrifying at the sight of Billy Andrews, but with the Blythe boy by her side, she was finally happy. Slowly but surely, Luna Geraldo was falling for Gilbert Blythe.
