"Good morning princess, I hope you slept alright." Gilbert gave the girl a cheeky smile as he wrapped his arm around her. Although it was a simple interaction it made her feel safe, for once Luna felt as though she wasn't fighting the world and her demons alone. For once she felt like she had someone she could lean on, as if Gilbert Blythe was Luna's anchor.

"I hope you enjoy riding horses, there isn't much to do here in Avonlea so I thought of the next best thing." it was quite obvious that Gilbert was beyond nervous as he would occasionally scratch the back of his neck and twiddle with his fingers at the mention of the day ahead. "Interesting choice for day three Mr. Blythe, lucky for you its one of my favorite things to do, I haven't gone riding since Theo.." Luna ended the sentence in a quiet whimper, remembering the  last time she went with her brother which brought tears to her eyes. Gilbert, who was sat next to her, put an arm around her in an attempt to comfort the girl beside him. He was never one to comfort someone, but with Luna it was different. Gilbert wasn't afraid of going out of his way to do everything for this girl no matter what consequence he may face, all he wanted was to make her happy. With his actions in mind, Luna looked up into his eyes with a small smile as a way of appreciation at the gesture that he had made. It brought butterflies to her stomach knowing that he was being so kind and gentle with her even at her low points instead of running away from the mere thought of affection.

In an attempt to stray her mind from the topic, Gilbert got up in a haste, "Well Ms. Geraldo, are you ready to begin our adventure for the day?" He had the biggest smile plastered on his face as he reached his hand out to the smaller girl, and in turn she latched her hand with his as they officially went off to begin their adventure for day three.

"Gilbert I want that one!" Luna screeched in excitement as she saw the purest white horse out in the pasture and took off running leaving Gilbert in the dust. "All yours princess but at least let me help you onto her." "Oh Gilbert, I appreciate the formality, but this princess can mount onto a horse all her own." Luna was proud with her accomplishment, showing Gilbert that she can be independent despite what many would say during their time. Although Gilbert wasn't surprised at all that the small girl could do it, he knew she was just as, if not more, independent as himself, which only caused his attraction for the Geraldo girl to grow. "Alright alright, I believe you princess, just don't ride off with out me I have to find one as well." Gilbert chuckled as he saw the look of pure happiness on her face. This was in fact all he had ever hoped and dreamed for, to make the girl of his dreams happy.

As they rode through the open fields of Avonlea Gilbert couldn't help but smile to himself. Here he was with one of the most astonishing girls in the town. How he got so lucky? He wasn't so sure, but one thing he did know was that he would never, in any way, harm the girl he had waited so long for. Luna on the other hand knew in this moment that she had truly fallen for the one and only Gilbert Blythe, she had no doubt in her mind that she had fancied him before, but in this moment she knew she was really falling hard. However, she also knew Gilbert's past, she knew he had a reputation of constantly leaving Avonlea which scared the poor girl to death. If she truly were to be with Gilbert how would she know that he wouldn't just get up and leave at some point? She may never know for sure what the future may hold for the two, but what she does know is that she doesn't ever want this moment to end.

~

"Well princess, I hope day three lived up to your expectations." Gilbert was growing nervous again as millions of thought came into his head as their day came to an end. Did she enjoy it as much as I did? Should I have planned something else? All his worries faded away when he saw her smile, her smile could cure all his problems and more. "I loved it Gilbert, thank you for showing me the beauty of Avonlea again, I really needed it." Luna truly was grateful for a guy like Gilbert, he made her see the world for what it truly was and not for what she had forced herself to imagine it as. "Anything for the princess. Now let me walk you home, we don't want any dragons snatching you away from me." Hand in hand the two laughed together as they walked down the same old path that would always split them up at the end of the day.
