"Good afternoon, class, I bet you are all excited to begin your training as magicians. Well, to help you begin, I will be teaching the first few lessons. My name is Professor Turrolf, and I am a mage. But what does that mean exactly? Some of you may think you know, but the concepts tend to get confused often."

I looked around the room and saw many unfamiliar faces, all wearing the same plain brown robes and shoes. I then looked at the old Professor Turrolf, who had a white goatee and long white hair, and yellow eyes. He stood tall with his magical wooden staff and dark blue robes. His staff had a glowing blue orb in it. The room was large and lit by magical glowing orbs. The room was white and not much else in the room other then two large doors behind the Professor.

"What exactly do you mean by that?" Some girl with long pink hair that covered her eyes asked.

"Well, by that I mean that there are differences between Mages, Wizards, Archmages, Master Wizards, Sorcerer, Enchanter and the many others. You most likely think they are the same, but there are differences. These are the basics. Mages are those who use magic in an offensive means, while Wizards are those who use their magic in a more defensive and supportive manner. Sorcerers sometimes use darker types of abilities to accomplish similar magics as Wizards but also can focus on summons. Enchanters focus mainly on support and enhancements. Darkmages? Well that is pretty obvious. Archmages are masters of ALL types of magic. There are very few born with this talent. Currently the only known Archmage is Magnus, the leader of the school. They, unlike any other human, are able to learn and master all types of magic. The normal human can only learn one or two types. Master Wizards is a title given to the most skilled magician after the Archmage to help lead things around the school. Then, of course there are the different 'mancers', such are Pyromancers, Cryomancers and Hydromancers, Geomancers and Aeromancers, and again, many more, are all categorized as mages. Magicians focusing on defensive magic, like making barriers or other unique types of support magics like Spatiomancy are classified as Wizards. Sorcerers are similar, but they also use summons. Enchanters will vary from using magical items to healing and strengthening their allies.  I believe you are beginning to get the idea. But what makes the magics balance is that just because say Wizards are defensive and supportive, or Enchanters are healers, doesn't mean they can't fight as well. They can develop magics that allow them to fight, while keeping their defensive or supportive nature. Many Enchanters focus on buffing themselves to allow them to fight and they can also buff their allies." He continued.

"This guy sure does talk a lot!" Yokamaru, whom was standing next to me whispered.

"We should pay attention! I didn't know this before!" I whispered back, sounding a bit excited.

"Yeah, but this is the boring stuff," he said sounding displeased. I continued listening to the teacher.

"On your adventures you may even meet unique magicians, with magic that is not exactly attainable by normal magicians. Some that we have encountered are Hemomancers, Chronomancers, Carnomancers, all of which are extremely difficult for normal people to learn because of their unique magical natures. But, just because they are 'mancers' doesn't mean they are strictly mages. Almost all mancers can use their element in a defensive way, so would that make them Wizards? No, just because they have full control of their element and they can do this do not make them wizards. There are many more unique magicians out there, who we have yet to encounter. Archmages cannot learn these unique abilities," He went on. Someone with dark blue hair and grey eyes raised their hand.

"Yes?" Professor Turrolf asked.

"How do we know who the Archmage is? Is it possible for any one of us to be the Archmage?" the boy asked.

"Yes, anyone of you in this room could be an Archmage. There could even be more then one. The way to find out is not so easy, however. Also, the chances are so slim, I doubt even one of you is an Archmage. But, if one is found, usually he or she is sent to the current Archmage, from there, we don't usually know what happens to him or her, because it is not often we get one. The best person to ask about things like that is the Archmage himself, but do note he can be busy at times. How to know if you are Archmage is if the current Archmage scans your magic, though, he doesn't have the time to individually scan every single student in the school to see to the extremely unlikely chance that there actually is an Archmage amongst us. It's easier to have them figure it out themselves through battle and report it to the Archmage as to scanning all the hundreds of students in the school. Each person can only learn one, occasionally two types of magic, trying to learn another simply won't work, so if you are able to learn more then one as a beginner, it means you are the Archmage. Perhaps in the future, the Archmage will be able to make a device to scan for the Archmage, but it takes a fair amount of time to scan a student, and there are many students. Now, I think it's about time you guys actually learned magic because that pretty much concludes the informative introduction. Now we will need to get things organized. We will be setting you all in groups of three, in which you will be practicing in. We decided it is best to split you into your groups before having you learn your magic types. Now then, we will call out the names of each individual and your group members. After meeting up with your group, proceed through the door behind me. However, there are some rules that need to be gone over before we may begin. First off, violence is prohibited in the school, but students can spar if time is given. We don't want people killing one another, I think that is pretty obvious. No stealing others' work or resources. Once caught, you will be punished. No damaging the property owned by the school, or the school itself. These rules are pretty self explanatory, but I still feel they needed to be addressed. If you break rules or do things you shouldn't do, you will have to face the Archmage. Now then, to begin..."
