Nothing had changed; everything was pretty much the same in The City of Beginnings! Many of the different houses are still here, being the capitol of Meraja, it's bound to be inhabited by many. All of the different stores and of course the palace and fountain still in view!
"Sorta nostalgic, isn't it?" I thought aloud.
"Yeah, this was where we first entered the school from!" Mitsu responded.
"We should get to the mission." Raiden reminded us.
"Right!" I said and responded by clapping my hands together, and focusing my energy, to summon a large bird. It looked the same as Rex, the other bird I named and summoned a couple of times, but this one was much larger. Large enough to hold the three of us. It also had strange markings in a dark gold colour. I decided to name the bird Giyu, which we then jumped onto, as it took flight.
This summon was draining my mana, so as I sat on top of it, I began meditating to regenerate my magic faster. In the meantime, Raiden placed his hand onto the bird and used his pyromancy to transform my bird in to what resembled that of a Phoenix, with flames shooting from behind the great being, making it go faster.
Lastly, Mitsu put her palm onto her chest then lifted it into the sky, increasing the birds speed, which also made the bird transform again, into a white one. The black bird with glowing red eyes that we started with is now pure white with flames shooting from behind it's wings. We have come pretty far with our magic!
We managed to arrive to the Cave of Death within half a day, as to 5 whole days! For the next half of the day we took camp nearby, but not to close, because we did not want anything that could be inside to come after us, so we kept our distance.
We all needed to rest, keeping up our magic for that long takes it's toll! We set up a campfire, which Raiden obviously lit, and we sat around it.
"Well, what’s the plan for when we enter?" Mitsu asked.
"Hm, I was thinking we could just make it up as we go." Raiden responded.
"But, that's not a plan! We need a strategy, something to go by!"
"Well, how about we just try to be sneaky?" I suggested. "Oh, and we live no matter what!" I added.
"Simple enough." Raiden laughed.
"Alright, that's what we will go by!" Mitsu agreed.
We then went to sleep and, before we knew it, the sun began to rise and we set off.
Since it was now morning, I could see the place clearly, A large hole in the side of the mountain, surrounded by tall bushy trees, concealing the cave quite well. From what I could see there was a dark corridor leading into the edge of a mountain. There was no light coming from the entrance, nothing could be seen inside. We had Raiden make a Fire Ball in his hand to light the way for us.
"Are either of you nervous?" I asked.
"Not really, why would we be?" Raiden questioned.
"Well, it’s our first mission, what if something happens to one of us?" Mitsu responded.
"Well, I think we should be confident in our abilities!" Raiden suggested.
"I agree with Raiden on that one. We wouldn't have been chosen for this job otherwise." I continued.
"You guys are right. Thanks."
"No problem!" "Don't mention it." Raiden and I spoke simultaneously.
