Everyone leaned forward.
"What spell was it?" Infali asked.
"There is a spell called Underworld's Planet Crusher. It is a very high level gravity manipulation spell. I will know for sure when I see it myself, but I think that spell was used to destroy Taisii. The utter destruction on the surface and the sinking of the city's site while the underground tunnels remained intact is exactly what that spells does. But very few people can cast it," Jirondius answered.
Gives us names then," said Alilipto.
She and Kamisto had stayed, and no one wanted to tell them to leave. Jirondious was glad for it. When he explored the ruins, he might need them to help guide him. There were no buildings left by the sound of it, but they would likely have a good idea of where they would be in relation to the city hall if they had to use tunnels to access it.
"Kexeem the Marrow Crusher, Alipi the Flippant, Alimista, Mordraug the Terrible and Wagudush Tusk can all use the spell. There are also legendary ranked mages that can use it, but I suspect that one of those five might have done it based on the fact that there was supposed to be an altar somewhere beneath the city hall," Jirondious said.
"Then those names were...?" Winika asked.
"Gods, demons and dragons that are unique to this area," Jirondious answered. "I'm surprised you didn't recognize them. Did I pronounce them incorrectly?"
"Oh, no. I'm actually not from here. I moved here only a couple years ago," said Winika.
"None of those beings have been around for over a thousand years. Alimista is said to be the last Guardian of the Taisii region. There is no dragon guarding the Taisii region otherwise Taisii would not have been destroyed. The evil god Mordraug was driven out by the goddess Faluvid. Wagudush Tusk is a centaur that was deified. No real power. The two demons are warded off by sigils carved into the cliffs. It must be the work of a mage," Alilipto said.
"Only 30 legendary mages are alive today, and I could find out if any of them were doing missions near Taisii if I had access to a government radio. Do they have one?" Jirondious asked.
He jerked his head at the two officers. They were glaring sullenly at the group.
"Communications are down, but they probably have government radios. Theoretically they might work," Yonosaia said.
Infali and Winika swooped upon the bound officers and frisked them. Both had walkie-talkies, and Winika handed these over to Jirondious.
"Perhaps it would be better to try going to the station and using the main radio there," said Jirondious.
He was holding the walkie-talkies out as though afraid he might get bitten.
"Why do you have such a worried expression no your face?" Kamisto asked.
"Yeah, those shouldn't pick up anything if they are off and not tuned into anything," Infali said.
Jirondious twitched his fingers. "I'm thinking that it might be better not to let any officers know that we frisked those two to get these. Besides, the government won't be sending orders over these. These just have short range receivers," he explained.
"Everyone was just hoping to break in to finish you off. We could try to get a group to distract the officers in the station while we sneak in through the back," Infali suggested.
"The other option is that I walk in and demand to use it," Jirondious said.
"Word has already come that Taisii was destroyed. Wouldn't they wonder why you were able to walk in with a hole in your side?" Ofilo asked.
