Virgil sat on the sofa in the living room. He was playing Mario kart on his Nintendo switch. It was 1 AM and he was already on his second can of monster. He was dressed in a pair of black sweat pants covered in his storm cloud logo and a MCR t-shirt he had been wearing for a week now, not caring enough to change. On the table in front of him was another two cans of monster. One empty and one half empty. More was waiting for him in the fridge. He liked to play videogames. Even more so late at night when he could sit alone in the living room. It was the only time he could leave his room without being bothered by one of the other sides. It was dark and quiet just how he liked it.

He reached for his monster and chugged the last of the drink down. Energy drinks weren't good for him. It made his heart race and that didn't help his anxiety what so ever. But he didn't like sleeping cause he had no control over his dreams. That were usually nightmares. So he chose energy drinks over sleep. He was planning to pull yet another all-nighter. He placed the can back down and sighed. He got up from the couch and headed into the kitchen to get his third can of monster. Meanwhile, Patton was all cuddled up asleep in a burrito of blankets, dressed in his cat onesie, surrounded by the happy memories of Tomas's childhood that decorated and created the atmosphere in his room.

Suddenly he awakened when hearing sounds coming from downstairs, he shifted to the side and the clock read 1 am, deciding to investigate, he slowly untangled himself from the mess of blankets and got up to see what was going on.  As Patton descended the stairs he spotted the empty cans of energy drinks and a game pause screen playing a happy little tune, he walked over to the couch and looked around for the foe he had now figured out was the one up at this hour and crossed his arms with a slightly annoyed pout.

He had told Virgil many times how dangerous it was to be up at this hour, playing games and drinking that devilish drink that smelled of sugar and caffeine and he was determined to at least figure out why he refused to sleep. To Patton it was always a mystery as to why sleep would bother you, it was always the one place he could create his happy dreamland and eat as many cookies as his heart desire. He was just so concerned for his friend that he lost himself in his thoughts, still maintaining the annoyed pout on his face.

Virgil got the new can and opened it up. He took a big sip from before stretching a little. He started to make his way back to the living room. As he rounded the corner into said room, he was not prepared to someone standing there. He jumped in surprise almost dropping his can. He soon recognized the cat onesie as Patton's and raised an eyebrow.

"Patton?" He began as he stepped into the living room. "What are you doing up this late?" He asked

Patton snapped out of his thoughts upon hearing a voice, he turned around and saw his friend starring at him, holding that devilish drink. He sighed and pointed towards the lit up tv that was still playing that happy little tune.

"Don't tell me you're planning on playing that all night kiddo? Its not good for your health!" Patton spoke in a tired almost morning voice as he ignored Virgil's question.

He soon let a yawn leave his mouth and decided to sit down on the couch and rub his eyes from sleepiness. Virgil knew Patton wouldn't approve of his sleepless habit. He had lost count of how many times Patton had scolded him about it. He rubbed the back of his head.

"It's not that bad Patton...I'll be fine" Virgil said before walking over and sitting down on the couch next to him. "You should go to bed. You seem tired and you are not used to being up this late" he stated.

Patton only huffed in annoyance and turned to face Virgil with a stubborn look on his face "i'm not going back to sleep until you're at least trying to sleep! And if you don't then i'll stay up all night until you do" he ended with a yawn but did not let his sleepy state get to him as he kept looking at Virgil with his determined eyes.

Virgil looked a little shocked. He knew Patton shouldn't stay up all night. He just got grumpy. Virgil tried to reason with him. "Patton. I'm not tired. I couldn't sleep even if I tried" he lied. He was always tired. But he didn't want to have to deal with his nightmares.

He sighed and took a few sips of his monster  Patton sighed, knowing that trying to get Virgil to sleep would end up pointless since he always found ways to trick Patton into thinking he was actually asleep but he had already decided he wasn't going to let Virgil win. He was strong to, if Virgil could pull all-nighters all the time, how hard could it be?

He just weakly at Virgil and said "well, I guess you've just decided to let us both pull an all-nighter so put that devilish drink down and lets play together!" He spoke, a little happiness filling his voice as he grabbed a controller and made himself comfortable on the couch.

Virgil was a bit surprised at this. He knew Patton was stubborn when he wanted to. But to join an all-nighter was new. He doubted Patton would last long. Especially since he didn't drink energy drinks. But Virgil did as he was told and put the can down on the table.

"If you say so" he grabbed the other controller and set the game up for two players and pressed start

The game was hard at first since Patton was no expert, he was no expert in videogames in general but he enjoyed watching people play and sometimes try it out himself but after almost 2 hours of endless playing and witnessing the table fill up with the empty cans of that devilish drink, Patton felt his eyes give in and he slowly let his head fall onto Virgil's shoulder as sleep was now cat-ching up to him. Virgil was so into the game that Patton's head falling on his shoulder startled him at first. He looked over and sighed softly. He knew this would happen. Patton wasn't meant for all-nighters. Virgil looked at Patton for a while. He looked peaceful when sleeping. Virgil wished he was the same. Patton also looked cute, especially in that cat onesie.

"Good night buddy" Virgil whispered before turning back to they game, switching it back to one player. He let Patton sleep on his shoulder, it didn't bother him at all. He liked Patton. He was the only one of the sides that didn't annoy him. Or lowkey hated him. He smiled softly as he kept playing
