After a while of rebuilding the precious cake and enjoying a good laughter, the hours seemed to tick by so fast as the clock had now struck 10, and Patton decided to duck out (quack) as he felt sleep catch up with him and it seemed his little- almost 4 hour- nap wasn't enough for the usually happy Patton this day even though he just consumed half a cake.

"I'm going to bed, I'm tired" Patton said as he put his dish in the sink with a tired yawn.

Patton walked out of the room he passed by his boyfriend and planted a simple goodnight kiss on the cheek and smiles at him. " night kitten, if you have any bad dreams you can come over to my room okay?" He spoke softly and sincere to Virgil before leaving.

Virgil smiled at Patton and kissed his cheek in return. "I will...Goodnight puppy. Sleep well" he said lovingly.

Virgil watched Patton leave before turning back to his remaining cake peace. He didn't plan on sleeping, he had his videogames and energy drinks to keep him awake. He took a bite of his cake. He felt happy, not even Romans musical rant could annoy him right now. He felt at peace and that everything was right.

Patton curled up in his blanket fort and collapsed like a defeated hero, letting sleep consume him right away. A peaceful dream swept by, leaving a smile on his lips, but the smile faded with the hours and he awoke, feeling as if someone or something was watching him. Patton turned the light on but there was nothing there, he looked to the clock and it read 2am. He sighed heavily and turned the lights off again, a few more minutes passed by before he felt something crawl by his foot. Patton sat up with a squeal and turned the light on again but there was nothing there. At this point he was wide awake and too scared to even think of sleep. Patton wrapped a blanked around him and waddled out in the dark hallway, knocking softly on his boyfriend's door, hoping he was in there and could offer protection and cuddles to help him calm down.

Once Virgil had finished his cake he had headed to his room. He had spent a few hours playing on his Nintendo ds. But now he had gone over to writing some poems. When he heard the knock at the door he jumped a bit. He shoved the poems into a box on the floor and pushed it under his bed with his foot. He then stood up and walked over to the door. He wondered who it was at this hour. He opened the door and saw that it was Patton, he looked at him with worry. It wasn't like Patton to be up at this hour, and look, scared?

"Hey puppy. What are you doing up now? Something the matter?"

Patton rushed through the door as soon as it opened and hugged Virgil in a tight hug. "I think there's something in my room" he mumbled against the crook of Virgil's neck, barely enough for the other to hear. Patton was never one to be scared by ghosts or supernatural stories but he was afraid of one thing, a phobia if found in a better use of words. " I-I think there's a s-s-spider there, w-watching me" he spoke shakily, clinging to Virgil as if he was his only life-support

Virgil hugged him back just as tight. He knew Patton was terrified of spiders. Virgil, lucky wasn't. He actually liked spiders and had even considered getting a tarantula as a pet at one point.

"Well, show me where you think it is and I'll get rid of it. Then we can go cuddle in my room. Sound good puppy?" Virgil asked softly and calming. While rubbing Patton back softly.

Patton nodded and pulled away from the tight embrace, he grabbed hold of Virgil's hand and dragged him along to his room.

" I'm not sure where b-but I felt it crawl on my foot!" He almost yelled as he pointed to his bed. He lifted all the blankets and pillows, and nothing was found, yet he still felt that feeling of being watched.

Virgil looked around. If it had been crawling on Patton's for it can't have come long. He looked around the bed. He sat down on his knees and checked under the bed. No sight of it. He sat back up and looked around the room, then, from the corner of his eye he saw something crawl from behind the bookshelf to under the desk. Virgil was quick to get it. He laid his hand down in front of it and used his other hand to push it into his palm. He picked it up and looked at it.

"It's just a common house spider. It's not dangerous" Virgil said calming.

He stood up, spider still in his hand. He looked at it some more. Virgil thought spiders were kind of cute and he related to them as well cause people was scared of them without really knowing them. Patton stood there, wide eyed and frozen as he looked at the creepy crawly monstrous death in his boyfriends hands.

"Aaah! It moves!!We have to Kill it!" Patton yelled, fear and paranoia getting to him now, he still hadn't moved as he focused his gaze on the crawling thing in Virgil's hands, panic at work now.

Virgil looked at Patton. He knew Patton was scared but he wasn't going to kill it. The spider had done nothing wrong. He shook his head at his boyfriend.

"No, I'm not gonna kill it. I will just let it out" he said and started to walk to the door and down the stairs. He looked at the spider and smiled. "Don't worry little guy. Soon you'll be free" he said sweetly. Almost in a way that you talk to a cat or a dog.

Patton followed behind like a curious little child while still shivering every time the spider moved and cocking an eyebrow in surprise at the sweet voice Virgil gave the spider.

"its a deathly monster, not a freaking dog!" Patton spoke, frustrated that the thing was still in the house and deep down a tumbling feeling that made him despise the spider more for taking his boyfriends attention even more.

Virgil glanced back at Patton, a bit of a frown on his face. "No, It's not a monster" he said softly.

Virgil opened the front door and walked out in the yard. He walked a few feet away from the house and leaned down, letting the slider crawl out of his hands onto the grass. He smiled at it.

"There you go little guy" Virgil said, just as sweetly as last time. He then stood up and walked back inside.

As he watch the deathly threat disappear in the grass, away from the house, the frustration, fear and tension started to disappear and Patton let a small breath leave him as his body finally seemed to start relaxing again.

" can we go back to sleep and cuddle now?" Patton asked, in a small, almost childlike voice as he looked at Virgil with a tired smile

Virgil looked at Patton and smiled softly back at him. He leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on his lips. "Of course, puppy" he said softly and took a hold of Patton's hand and lead him upstairs.

Virgil walked over to his room and stepped inside. He closed the door behind him and lead Patton to the bed. They laid down and Virgil cuddled up to Patton with a smile. He wasn't going to sleep. But he enjoyed cuddles. Patton was out like a light as soon as his head hit a pillow, he hugged Virgil tight and mumbled a bunch of sweet words in his ears while sleeping, most of the words was barely audible but Patton couldn't care less, he felt that every second with Virgil was worth it and he felt happier than he'd ever been. A happy dream swept by and Patton's smile grew deeper as he whispered in his sleep.

"I love you Virgil, I hope you stay with me forever" the words were sincere and Patton hugged Virgil tighter in his sleep, hoping they could always be like This.

Virgil smiled wide and teared up a bit. "I love you too Patton. I hope so too" he whispered softly.
