Chapter 19-Hawaii pt.1

{Leo's P.O.V}
I slowly opened my eyes at the sunlight coming through the blinds and I stretched my arms, trying to feel a certain someone next to me. When I didn't feel her, I sat up and opened my eyes completely.
I stood up, walking over to her room and hesitantly putting my hand over the door handle.
Maybe she doesn't want me going in there. Maybe she's shy...
I shook my head, scratching the back of my neck, before I turned back around and walked away, before I felt my phone vibrate.
{Marlie's P.O.V}
I opened my eyes slightly, and I heard the sound of the radio in the background. I slowly looked around, my eyes still blurry. I was in the backseat of the limo, and there was a little window in the front to talk to the driver.
What the heck...
"Oh you're awake." The driver smiled. I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Morning!" Jacky suddenly appeared at the window.
"What the heck! Jacky!" I screamed in fright.
She smiled brightly.
"What? Why are you here? Why am I here?" I asked rubbing my head.
"Well..." Jacky tried to hide her excitement.
"We're going on a trip!" She threw her hands up.
"And you had to fake a kidnapping to bring me here...why?" I tilted my head. I knew Jacky was extra but I didn't think she was this extra.
"Because I know you wouldn't have liked it. I know how much you hate airplanes. This was the only way to make sure you're actually going. So we're almost at the airport right now." Jacky smiled.
"Where are we even going?" I spat.
Jacky smirked," I'll tell you when we get to the airport." She smiled.
I rolled my eyes, feeling around the back seat for my phone. I groaned once I noticed that it wasn't there.
"Oh, and I already invited Johnny and Leo." She said quickly, closing the window before I could say anything else. I slumped down in the seat and I sighed.
Great.

The car suddenly stopped and I sat up, looking outside at the airport.
"I didn't even bring my passport." I said, hopping out of the car," Or any of my clothes."
"It's okay. I told Leo to bring them." Jacky smiled.
I didn't even know she knew Leo was still in town. Geez. I didn't hear from her for two days and suddenly she's kidnapped me and taken me on a spontaneous trip.
I closed the door behind me and I rolled my eyes, before turning around.
That's when I spotted Evelyn and Kai.
"Evelyn!" I screamed, running up to her. She screamed also, as I threw my arms around her.
"What are you guys doing here?" I hugged her tight. I pulled myself away and I looked at the both of them.
"Jacky called us." Evelyn shrugged with a smile.
"She called you up from your honeymoon?" I raised my eyebrow at Jacky.
"It really wasn't like that." Kai jumped into the conversation.
"Eve and I liked Bora Bora and everything..." Kai started," But we like our friends more."
"Awe." I threw my arms around the both of them now. I missed them more than I thought I did.
"So, the whole high school squad is going. Huh?" Evelyn sighed, looking at Jacky. Jacky nodded, smirking at herself.
"Going where exactly?" I jumped into the convo.
Kai opened his mouth to say, but Jacky jumped on top of him, covering his mouth.
I rolled my eyes.
"Hey guys." Johnny appearing next to me, a smile on his face.
We all turned and greeted him.
"No one tell Marlie where we're going!" Jacky almost screamed.
"Ugh. Why not?" I pouted.
"Because!" Jacky mumbled, jumping off of Kai's back and putting a hand on my shoulder.
"We want it to be a surprise." She smiled, raising her eyebrows," I think it'll be interesting to see what happens."
I crossed my arms, until Leo appeared on the opposite side of me with two suitcases.
"I came as fast as I could." He said out of breath.
"Great! Let's go!" Jacky pulled me and Evelyn along with her.

We were sitting on the airplane and of course I get the seat in between Johnny and Leo. The most awkward place. I put on my headphones, listening to music while closing my eyes. Slowly I felt myself fall asleep.
{Leo's P.O.V}
I was listening to music in my headphones when suddenly I felt a weight on my shoulder.
I looked over to my left and saw Marlie's head propped up against my shoulder snuggly. She had fallen asleep. I couldn't help but smile a bit at that. She looked so peaceful and in her own world.
After a couple of seconds she took her head off of my shoulder, still staying asleep and moved her head towards the other side, where it landed on Johnny's shoulder now.
I looked over towards Johnny and we both made eye contact, Johnny's eyes were wide, almost shocked at Marlie's presence. We both looked away from eachother and Johnny awkwardly cleared his throat, before nudging her head towards me. But she wouldn't move. She was absolutely asleep. I crossed my arms and tried to ignore it.
{Marlie's P.O.V}
I woke up when everyone started getting up. Apparently I was asleep during the whole flight and I still didn't even know where we were.
I lazily stretched, looking over at Leo who had his arms crossed and a pout on his face.
Once we all got out of the plane, I knew immediately where we were.
Hawaii!
I ran around towards the windows, taking in the view and sighing in awe. Jacky and Evelyn's dream vacation was always the three of us in Hawaii, drinking from coconuts and sitting by the beach.
Jacky and Evelyn appeared on the sides next to me.
"Our dream vacation here we come!" Evelyn smiled.
"Whatever happens in Hawaii, stays in Hawaii." Jacky announced.
Evelyn and I looked at her weirdly.
"Isn't that saying about Vegas?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Who cares? It's a trip. And both your ex boyfriends are here." She patted me on the back before walking away.
"Hey!" I jogged after her.

When we arrived at the hotel, I was surprised that Jacky had actually planned the whole thing. She'd gotten three rooms. Evelyn and Kai would stay in one, Johnny and Leo in another, and me and Jacky in the last one. This place was beautiful, everyone walked around looking relaxed and wearing Hawaiian patterned shirts, which I thought was a bit cheesy but they're cool.

After Jacky and I unpacked, we both agreed to meet the others at the beach for dinner. I had changed into shorts and a T-shirt, which had my bathing suit under.
I sighed deeply, while sitting in a chair opposite of Jacky, waiting for the rest to appear.
The restaurant was beautiful. It was an outdoor restaurant with fairy lights, and candles in the center of each table. There was also a little railing that saw outside onto the ocean. There was a stage, I'm guessing for karaoke that was placed on the right side of the area.
Everything seemed so nice. And it was amazing.
"How long are we here for?" I asked her curiously.
She looked up as if she was thinking," Two days." She went back to playing on her phone.
I smiled to myself. I never thought I'd be going to HAWAII of all places! Especially today!
"Hey guys!" Kai suddenly appeared at the table, followed by everyone else. Leo took the seat on my right, just like in high school and Johnny took the one on my left. Jacky had to scoot over to let the two love birds sit next to each other. Ugh I missed my friend group so much.
Leo leaned towards me, and I leaned the opposite way, a bit startled.
"Wanna sneak out with me later?" He whispered.
"Sneak out?" I looked at him confusingly, while whispering back,"What for?"
Leo smiled," I don't know. We can explore."
I raised my eyebrows," Explore what?"
He laughed loudly before leaning back down, "Just say yes already."
"Okay. Is eleven okay?" I smiled.
"Perfect." Leo bit his lip slightly, before leaning back.
Am I crazy or did he just ask me out on a date? No. We're just sneaking out. Thats all.
I shook my head.
While we were waiting for our drinks, suddenly there was a guy on the stage with a microphone.
"Now it's time for the ultra crazy mega super couple competition." The announcer announced.
"Try saying that ten times fast." Johnny mumbled to me. I laughed as Jacky attempted it. She failed.
"Any volunteers for this competition?" The announcer asked.
We all looked over towards Evelyn and Kai. They looked at us confusingly.
"What?" Kai asked.
"Go and try it!" Jacky hit him and he pouted.
"What? Why?" Kai mumbled at her.
"You guys would be perfect for an ultra crazy mega super couple competition." Leo said quickly.
I nodded.
"I don't think that's our scene." Evelyn mumbled shyly.
"Too bad. I'll volunteer for you." I said, before raising my hand.
The announcers eyes scanned over the crowd and his eyes landed on me. He got off the stage and walked towards me.
"We have our first volunteer!" He announced into the microphone," And her boyfriend." He pointed towards Leo.
"Wa-What? No!" I waved my hands up but he wasn't paying attention. Leo was laughing hard at my expression.
He grabbed my arm and Leo's arms and pulled us towards the stage while Jacky clapped.
He let go of me and Leo on the stage.
I mentally facepalmed myself. And turned my back from the crowd, hiding myself with Leo.
He laughed, grabbing onto my hand.
"Calm down. It's just a game." He looked me in the eye. I nodded slowly, before stepping out.
"Who's our next couple?" The announcer asked.
Jacky stood up, raising her hand," Them! Them!" She pointed towards Evelyn and Kai.
The announcer was a bit surprised by her enthusiasm.
Jacky grabbed Kai and Evelyn and pulled him onto the stage with us.
"Great. So we have our two couples." The announcer said turning to us.
This wasn't awkward at all...
"First, we'll be playing the pepero game." The announcer reached into a bag and pulled out pocky (chocolate covered sticks). I groaned. And Leo looked over at me.
"You know this game?" He asked.
"I might've played it once or twice." I mumbled. I couldn't even make eye contact with him right now. I was embarrassed.
"The rules are, you put one end of the pocky in your mouth and the other end your partner puts in their mouth. Your lips inch closer and closer. The goal is to leave as little of the stick as possible while barely planting a kiss on one another. The duo with the shortest remaining stick wins." The announcer gave us each a piece of pocky and Leo and I faced towards each other, as Evelyn and Kai did the same.
There wasn't a lot of people at the restaurant but still, I was more than embarrassed.
Leo put one piece of the candy in his mouth, raising his eyebrows at me in a flirty way. He leaned toward and I couldn't help but laugh, putting my hand on his chest to tell him to wait. Evelyn and Kai were already edging towards each other. I took a deep breath, and Leo grabbed onto my elbows, pulling me towards him. I had to tippy toe to put the other end of the candy in my mouth, before Leo started edging closer. I did the same, but I closed my eyes. Leo tilted his head to the side, and I could feel his breath on my lips. Gosh I missed his lips. Leo and I's lips touched faintly, the candy still there and he pulled away, dropping the remaining candy into his hand, which was tiny.
I looked down at it and I bit my lip. Well, I guess that's the closest I'll ever get to kissing Leo ever again. Leo smirked down at me once he saw my expression and the announcer came to compare the sizes of both ours and Evelyn and Kai's.
"Team A wins!" The announcer announced, pointing towards us.
My jaw dropped and I looked towards Leo.
I squealed and threw my arms around Leo, engulfing him in a hug.
I've never won at anything against Evelyn. EVER! And the first time was at a couple competition in Hawaii with LEO! Is this a dream or what?
Leo hugged me back, picking me up off my feet. I laughed and he put me down.
"What do we win?" Leo asked the announcer.
"A suite in the most gorgeous hotel on the island!" The announcer exclaimed.
Leo and I looked over at each other, feeling less enthusiastic about this. I can't get into a suite with Leo.
The announcer shoved some papers in Leo's hand and I looked down at it.
"Everything's already paid for you. So have a great night!" The announcer smiled. I laughed awkwardly before looking over at Evelyn who gave me a thumbs up. I shook my head faintly.
This was bad. I've been trying so hard to get over Leo and now I have to stay in the same hotel room with him?
