Bria P.O.V

I woke up the next morning feeling a little weaker than usual. Probably because I had skipped dinner last night, but I refused to let the lightheaded feeling make an effect on me.

I rushed to get ready for school, today was Monday and the thought of being able to see Sam in a couple hours got me feeling excited. I also realized that today was the first time I would be in school as his mate. I wondered if the kids would notice? Would I get stares from the female shifters? Would the humans even notice the difference? Probably not.

I picked a casual outfit, the heavy gray sky indicated it would be pouring the whole day. I took a little longer in front of the mirror, fussing over my hair and the color of my lipstick, for some odd reason I wanted to look pretty today, I wanted Sam to think I looked pretty.

I made my way downstairs and smirked as I saw dad at the stove, it wasn't usual that he made breakfast. "Morning kiddo," he greeted cheerfully.

"Hey dad," I grabbed my books, I looked around, still no sign of mom anywhere. Good.

"Need a ride to school?" he asked.

"I can walk dad, its okay" I said, mom wouldn't have bothered asking.

"And if it starts raining?" he asked.

I grabbed a yellow umbrella and held it up making him smile "Are you going to skip breakfast?" he asked.

God I was starving, "No time to sit and eat," I said instead, I was in a hurry to get to school.

"You're in a rush" he observed.

I grinned, was it obvious? I gave him a quick peck on the cheek, "See you later?"
 I asked.

"I won't be home till late," he slightly pouted "And..." he let out a tiny sigh "I don't know when mom will be home...do you think you can manage making dinner for yourself?" he asked.

I smiled at him, "No worries dad," I said, it would be easy, I would eat nothing. He gave me a kiss on the forehead "Okay, have a good day at school," he told me. I waved and quickly headed out.

I rushed to school and scanned the area as I neared the parking lot, I wondered if Sam was here already?

I was never much of a distraction amongst the many gorgeous girls at our school, and I don't know if it was me being paranoid, but I could've sworn a couple of the shifter guys gave me curious looks as I approached the entrance.

Could they smell Sam's scent on me?

Every time someone mates at our school we can tell right away, if not by the public display affection, the intense makeout sessions at the lockers, then by the scent of the person on the other. That and the fact that each female has a mark of their mate on their neck.

I put my hand over my neck awkwardly as if I was rubbing a sore neck and walked quickly away from the stares of the guys. I wondered if the kids from the party had spread the word already?

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Madison marching gracefully to me, her outfit was to kill for! She was wearing dark skinny jeans and a tight maroon sweater that looked fabulous on her. She looked so good it made me feel lame in my own dark sweater and old jeans.

"Hey-" I barely got out when she grabbed my arm roughly and literally dragged me with her to the nearest bathroom. She shoved me inside one of the stalls and locked the door making me widen my eyes, "What's up with you?" I demanded rubbing my sore arm, she was really strong.

"Is it true?" her eyes narrowed down to my neck.

"What?" I bit my bottom lip knowing exactly what she was talking about.
