Chapter 10: The Promise

Right after their stop on The Palace of Hues, with the remaining time left on the trip for the both of them to take a hold of, they've tried to spend every moment they had the best they could, the most vivacious way possible. All the craziest and stupidest things they could do—chasing each other on boulevards like it's just the two of them at dusk, not even minding seldom passerby's or vehicles, lying in the middle of the road at eventide right before the sun rises laughing about all the little things they find funny while stargazing, just strolling around the streets, buying things they feel like having, trying out different beverages and food for the first time they get to spot from stores and food stalls they pass by, taking couple shots on a photo booth— all the little things they want to do, capturing it with Jimin's camera as a remembrance, having the pictures as a reminder that for once in their Youth times, they were able to be as insane as they could, carefree from everything, just solely living the moment.

"This looks so funny," Jungkook was too engulfed by his laughter Jimin could barely understood his enunciation. In the present time, they were just hanging out by a park located in Busan, where one could get a good look of the horizon. It was already afternoon, near sunset and they were just there, Jimin leaning on a tree while Jungkook's lying beside him, his head on Jimin's lap, too busy browsing random pictures from their trip.

"What's that?" Jimin curiously asked as he leans down to Jungkook, trying to take a peek on the camera as Jungkook lets him see the reason of his sudden chortle. "Hoseok hyung seriously looked like a mess right there."

The both of them ended up laughing together as Jimin decides to join Jungkook upon riffling the pictures from the past days. There are times they'd both smile together and share insights about a certain photo, either complimenting it or just recalling the moment when the picture was taken, there are also times where in they'd burst into hilarity as they get to see funny pictures of them together, or Taehyung and Hoseok's. At some point, just scanning random pictures of them suddenly brought the memories back to life. The moments they've had from the trip and the bliss within still lingers until now.

"I'm going to miss this trip so much. It's too early to say this but it's definitely the most memorable time in my Youth." Jungkook alleged as he turns off the camera and immediately had his eyes on Jimin. The latter smiled, his beautiful eye smile showing.

"I could say the same." Jimin states as he gets the portrait of him that was just right beside him and gawks at it with nothing but pure admiration. "God, until now I still can't get over this one. This is seriously awe-inspiring."

Jungkook chuckles, thinking about how the older couldn't get himself off the painting since the moment it dried and was already tolerable of being handled. As he enjoys himself upon watching the older who's too busy admiring the painting, he suddenly came to a realization that they'd already have to go back from their lives soon.

The bitter reality of their forced cards to deal with corporate things. Surrounded by people who were too engrossed in the business world. Their fate to have to embrace the fact that they were the very own heir of their clans. But moreover, it was Jimin's graduation already and soon he'll have to go to college.

Jungkook couldn't help but to think about Jimin and his plans on taking politics. Was it the right thing to do? He didn't know. But he knows it's not what the older truly yearns for. And he wouldn't let Jimin go on a path in his life that was never really meant for him to take. If this is the least thing he could do, he'd do everything to be of help to Jimin.

"Jimin," Jungkook sternly said as he rises and hauls Jimin into his arms. Jimin willingly let the young man embrace him as he leans on his chest, still holding on to the portrait. "I've done my part. Now, before this trip ends, will you do something for me too?"
