The past night had seemed nothing but a blur of black and white. Some sort of distant memory. Martin had woken us up earlier than usual, he said something about bunkers and food. The thought of food excited me. We walked along a dirt path that felt like it never ended as Simone walked along beside me. I felt safe with her. Then I heard a splash and a curse escaped my lips. I turned around to see Rasmus with his foot in a puddle. Martin immediately aimed a pistol at him, but I jumped in front of it, the muzzle touching my chest. "You can't shoot him." I said, trying to hide how scared I was behind a stone cold stare. He just looked right through me and over to Beatrice. She'd taken his boot off, revealing that it was completely dry. Martin lowered his gun before looking me in the eye and saying: "Don't get in my way again." I attempted to keep my stare as hard as his. "Fine." I couldn't stop my hands from shaking as we continued along the path. I couldn't believe what I had just done. There was a sudden thump that caused me to turn around. The girl with long blonde hair had fallen to the ground for the second time today. Martin and Beatrice quickly helped her up and supported her firmly by the shoulders so she wouldn't topple over. Martin narrowed his ice cold eyes. "Simone, you better hurry the hell up and find that bunker. Lea can't go on for much longer." "It's getting closer, I know it." Simone replied, turning to Martin with an unamused stare. Everything seemed eerily quiet as we neared the bunker, everyone seemed lost in their own thoughts. I know I definitely was. Once we reached the hatch of the bunker, all of us gathered around as Simone tried to figure out a way to unlock it. Then with a swipe of her hand, the hatch opened and everyone stumbled inside.
