Pushing past the guard, (y/n) ripped through the caution tape, ignoring the angry yells from the other officers. She ran up the stairs, kicking open the door of her previous room, which bore the sign that showed it was a room available for rent. Hearing rustling in the back, she chased after it.
"Who the fuck is there?!" She screamed, running through the corridor, into the open living room. She noticed the figure look back, before jumping out of the window, which lead to a large, dark alleyway below it. Jumping down, she attempted to follow the person, before they had disappeared into thin air.
As she landed on the ground, she noticed a small splash, which occurred again, after the officers had followed after her too. Faced in front of her was a large dumpster, against a wall that was covered by a large black cloth, a substance dripping from its corners.
"It didn't rain today." (Y/n) whispered to herself, loud enough for the officers to hear and agree with her.
Using her quirk, she shone light on the ground, only for her legs to grow limp and weak at the sight of crimson liquid, in the form of puddles. In a small group, the officers approached the garbage bin, opening it to reveal its contents.
"What the fuck?" One officer gasped, running back to cover the eyes of the teenage girl. "I-is that her?"
"Not sure - the body is pretty messed up." Another officer stated, observing the scene further. "But the only thing missing seems to be a finger."
"O-one finger missing?" (Y/n)'s voice trembled as she stood up. "It's not an index finger, right?"
An officer turned around, a worried expression latching onto his features, "It is."
(Y/n) ran up to the edge of the bin, removing the small box from her pocket.
"I-it is her." (Y/n) whispered, handing the box to the officers.
Slowly, they opened the box, revealing a bloodied pointer finger. Despite the pool of blood surrounding it, the silver ring didn't go unnoticed, and shone as if it were still new. The officers gasped as the look at the contents of the box, before looking up at the girl, who help up her finger, showing an identical ring of a smaller size.
"Who would've wanted to murder her?" (Y/n) growled, lifting her arm to pull at the cloth that covered the wall, displaying dripping blood in the form of letters, in order to create a sentence, which read:
We are coming for you, (y/n)
-
Laying in bed, (y/n) was drowning in her own thoughts, too sad to even notice the often knocking on her dorm door. The night had passed, yet (y/n) wasn't able to sleep for a single second.
"(Y/n), open up." Jirou groaned, knocking on the door for the hundredth time. She turned around and slid herself down the door, till she was sat on the outside of the door. "Yesterday, you skipped lunch and dinner. You gotta get up for breakfast now."
"Kyouka, I don't feel great." (Y/n) responded. "I'll eat something later. And I don't want to go to class today. I'm not going to go."
"Okay. I'll leave some stuff for you here, outside your door. I'll update you with school later." Jirou stated, laying down a bag. (Y/n) thanked her friend, before falling back into her thoughts, blocking out the chain of goodbyes from her other classmates.
"They're after me." (Y/n) groaned, slamming her face into her pillow, clenching her fists hard enough, for her nails to dig crescent shaped cuts that drew blood from the palm of her hand.
Hearing rustling in the closet of her room, she slowly approached it, drawing a sword from the space around her. She swung open the door, only for an unfamiliar woman to be sat inside, laughing her heart out.
"W-who are you?" (Y/n) growled, poking her shoulder with a sword, only for it to go all the way through, without affecting the girl.
"The name's Hana." She chuckled, flicking (y/n)'s forehead. (Y/n) moaned in pain and held her head. "And I'm a ghost, silly!"
"Then why can you hit me?!"
"You have a quirk, which makes you act as the bridge between ghosts and humans. Remember that time you saw your mother?" She informed the oblivious girl. "Ghosts have been searching all over for you."
"How do you know about my quirk?" (Y/n) asked, reaching out to touch the cold ghost's arm.
"Because it was my quirk, before your dumbass dad stole it from me and gave it to Hitomi." She sighed, causing a lump to form in (y/n)'s throat, out of guilt. "But don't worry! I've been looking for you, because I want to help you learn how to use it."
(Y/n) nodded, holding the girl's hand to lead her to her bed, where they both sat down to speak.
"So, this is a quirk that allows you to interact with the ghost world, which means you are also able to join it temporarily, which is effective when needing to hide or spy." She began informing. "Also, when people die, they are brought to the ghost world - but only if they have unfinished business, which is why they search for you, in order to help them complete whatever it is stopping them from resting eternally."
"That's so cool!" (Y/n) cheered, jumping up. "And I get the satisfaction of helping people!"
"Yeah..." The girl furrowed her brow at her response. "Not only that, but ghosts still have their quirks. This means that if you help them, you'll get their quirks, once they leave this world. A perfect opportunity for you to become stronger. Stronger than that stupid dad of yours. And stronger than the League of Villains."
"You'd really help me? Why?" (Y/n) questioned, her interest sparked.
"I'm just a nice ghost." She smiled as she shrugged her shoulders.
(Y/n) furrowed her brow at her response, after observing her face for a while and noticing familiar features. She brushed it off and stood up, ready to start her adventure.
"So," (Y/n) smiled, pulling up Hana from the bed. "Where do we start?"
