Chapter-22

Manik's POV:

Nandini wasn't picking up my call so I came home to check on her only to find all the Elves there except Nandini.

"Where is Nandini?" I asked and they all turned towards me from the movie.

"Well, hello to u too." Mukti said sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes in her tone. "It's serious Mukti, where is she?"

"Samuel called and asked for a file." - Navya.

"The file is in her house so she had gone there." - Shina.

"And after that she will go office and give the file to Samuel." - Aliya.

"Oookay." I said as they gave me answer like that. One of them could have answer it. I didn't ask for any group assignment.

"Then why aren't she picking up my call?" I said trying her number again.

"Maybe she is busy?" shina suggested.

"Just call Samuel." Mukti said with a wave.

Before I could call him, he, himself call me. Maybe Nandini forgot her phone in her car or she lost it that's why she called him from Samuel's number.

"Hello."

"Hello, Mr. Handsome. Do u know where is Nandini because she didn't come in the office with that file on top of that she is not responding to any of my phone call." He said casually but it wasn't casual for me.

"She didn't go there. Are u sure?"

"Of course, I am. If she is there then tell her to come fast." He cut the call. That means he seriously thought Nandu wasn't there bcz she is here.

"Nandini didn't go to the office?" Navya asked worriedly and I shake my head as a no.

"But that's not possible. She left almost two hours ago." Aliya panicked.

"And it took only 45minute to reach there from here to her house and then her house to office. Maybe she didn't find the file." Mukti said.

"With Maddy lurking around openly, I can't just guess and sit here. I have to be sure." I said and went to my room, in search of something.

Nandini's POV:

I was sitting in this dark room curling like a ball. My whole body was shaking. Only the tickling sound of clock was there otherwise everything was silent, too silent to be precise. I pushed him hard and hurriedly got inside of another room of the second floor.

"I know Nandini, that u are just behind the door. If I try to break the door then u are going to get hurt so be a good girl and open the door." Maddy said in his sick tone. I sat there silently without saying anything.

"U know how much I love you? But u always ignored me. I was ur boyfriend goddammit but no u always found excuses to be away from me." he continued his tale and I was thinking how to get out of here. My phone wasn't even with me.

"I didn't want to beat u that day. But seeing u happily chatting with that guy it pissed me off. That time u stopped even looking at me but u were happy thats why I lose my cool."

I was listening to him but didn't reply even for once instead I softly stand up and opened the closet slowly. I started to tied the bedsheets one with another making it a long trail.

" When u left after that day, I promised myself not to hurt u again. Thats why when u became too comfortable with Fav5, I tried to kill them. That way u didn't get hurt by me." I was too close to shout at him but I stopped myself otherwise my only plan to get out of here will fail. That time I heard my phone ringing.

" Ah, that so called fiancee of urs calling u continuesly. If he didn't bought my company shares, I could have killed him long ago." That means Manik got to know that I am missing. He may turn up here and if he do, Maddy won't leave him.

I hurriedly went to the window and let the bedsheets fall. I tied it with the bed so that it could take my weight.

I have to stop Manik before he come here. Don't know what Maddy will do after he see Manik here.

"I love u so much that I even fought with my father. I......." He went on and on but I didn't pay any attention.

I slowly started to climb down by the help of that long trail. I tried not to make any sound and finally I was in the ground. I sighed in relief.

Now I have to go around carefully and get out of the property without my car.

I was able to come till my gate. I was about to get out when I heard a sound. He must had broken my door. I ran out immediately. I was running like a mad woman and I was looking for a phone booth. Manik's house was locked so that didn't help.

I got inside of a house. That house belongs to an old aunty. I talked to her many times.

"Nandini! Why are u panting? What's wrong?" Aunty asked worriedly.

"Aunty someone break into my house. I need to do a phone call." I said entering more inside of the house.

"Jesus! Here is my phone call the police."

"Before Police, I need to call someone else." I said and tried to call Manik but It was waiting. I tried again and again but same result. With whom he is talking this long.

After it felt like ages he finally received.

"Whoever u are it better be important." He snapped. I can hear honking of cars.

"Manik!" as soon as I said I heard his curse and scratching sound of tyres.

"Sh!t Nandini, Where are u? Are u fine? Did Maddy do something?" He asked frantically.

"Manik, I am fine now but please Maddy is in my house. Do not go there." I said.

"Like hack I won't. I will kill that bloody psyco."

"Manik,no. He is in killing mood today. I am with an aunty in our area. Please don't come here." I pleaded.

"Stay wherever u are. Today I am going to end his chapter for good." He said.

"No no Manik, Manik? Manik!" I shouted as he cut the call.

I looked at the phone disbelief and aunty wore a worried look.

"I need to go there. Maddy will kill him." I said and tried to get out of the house but aunty stopped me.

"It's not good for u to go out there too. Let's call the police in that way everyone will be safe." Aunty said and call the police.

Don't know what will happen. Maddy can do anything though I believe in Manik but with Maddy involved u need to expect unpredictable things.

There face-off will only bring disaster.
