The setting sun bathed the room into reddish-orange light passing through the drapes he had left undrawn for the time being. It shined right through and into his eyes – coincidentally being a very good excuse why he had stopped studying, however, Kaminari was aware it was just an excuse.
He could already imagine Kirishima sighing something in line with 'be more responsible' or 'the homework won't do itself', but he didn't care, he needed this break. His mind supplied him with everything except the calmness he needed for effective studying.
Kirishima was like that, in fact, Kaminari had been surprised how 'responsible' about their studies he was - always on time with their assignments and tasks.
The two of them used to study together a few times, and Kaminari wished he didn't blush every time he saw his friend - or whatever the hell he was to him anymore - since he knew that if he asked Kirishima for help, the redhead would make him finish studying. As the situation was now, he would fail the next batch of tests.
Desperate times require desperate measures.
The text was sent, now he just waited. And his nerves were up to destroy him.
It was a few days ago, a week maybe, he wasn't sure anymore. Their 'talk'. And the damn kiss that muddled his mind. Actually, that was the second one. The first kiss was a sort of awakening for him, making him see his friend in the new light. Before that, he wasn't aware he could see any male as a potential 'partner'. He had always thought he was straight, Kirishima managed to make him understand himself, a task he hadn't managed to do alone. With just one kiss.
But the second kiss really messed with his head. It made him realize he was having a freaking crush on his friend, one he hadn't realized was there before it smacked him right up the head.
He didn't care if he liked men or women, but liking a friend was potentially bad. Friends shouldn't be in the same sentence with romance. Nope. He saw friendships destroyed because the romance was put in the equation.
Granted, that happened to other people, people older than him, also people he didn't understand. He was different. Kirishima was different. But Kaminari was scared he would lose this friendship just because his dick had taken a liking into a perfectly chiseled body of his friend. Yes, that body which makes him drool every time he thinks about unclothing it.
Shit.
He was blushing again.
Shit. Shit. Shit.
He was half-hard. Dammit!
Think about something disgusting, or something not including Kiri. Hmmm. That's it! Aizawa sensei will kill me when he finds out I didn't do homework.
Kaminari managed to take care of his forming erection just the moment before he heard the knock on the door.
"It's open," he told the person he had been expecting to arrive.
Kirishima entered all bubbly and shit. The grin on his face so big it illuminated the room even more than the sun.
"Yo, man! What are we studying?" Kirishima asked while positioning himself on the floor beside the blonde, putting his notebook on the table.
"Well... I still have Aizawa's assignment to do and my English needs some polishing."
Oh, how happy it made him that he managed to answer without a hitch. Geez, it was hard to act normally when his face wanted to flame itself up.
Kirishima tuned his eyes on the table where books were scattered in an organized mess, some opened on critical pages, some just lying there and collecting dust.
"Sure."

After Kaminari actually did all the homework – he remembered he had more of it, not just the task for Aizawa's class – and learned a few new words in English, they took a break. Kaminari brought out two juice bottles and they settled to drink.
Kirishima sat closer to him this time, and that made Kaminari's nerves to appear. He fiddled with the bottle, staring at the floor.
When a hand grabbed his shoulder, Kaminari almost jumped out of his skin. He turned his head to watch Kirishima who had a worried expression on his face.
"Hey, why are you so tense?" He frowned with the question.
Kaminari wasn't sure how to answer. Silence encompassed them until Kirishima withdrew his hand and his eyes turned away from Kaminari.
"I guess it's my fault. Sorry for being a shitty friend."
Kaminari's eyes widened in surprise for the sad tone leaving the redhead's mouth. It definitely wasn't Kirishima's fault, if anything, it was his.
"No!" Kirishima's eyes rose back on the blonde. "I'm just being an idiot. You didn't do anything."
"But I pressured you – "
"You didn't," Kaminari interrupted him. His idiot friend shouldn't put himself down like that, always trying to shoulder things he shouldn't do alone.
Kirishima set his mouth into the firm line, quiet but seemingly unsatisfied with things said.
"Look, dude," Kaminari sighed, "I'm being an idiot and that's all." He shifted his sitting position so his whole body was turned to Kirishima. "I-I'm just afraid that all this would fuck things up, you know, mess up our friendship. I'm not opposed to it, just scared of losing you. This could change everything..." he trailed off not sure what else to say.
Kirishima was intently watching him, face set into an unreadable expression, and then he opened his mouth. "So you're not against this? Us?" He motioned his hand between them and Kaminari knew exactly what he was talking about.
A slight blush appeared on the blonde's face. "No." He decided to clarify even though the words were barely audible, "I like you..."
"Then we shouldn't cast our friendship aside. We should use it as a foundation to build an even better relationship."
Kaminari didn't even realize he turned his eyes away from Kirishima until he whipped his head back to eye him in astonishment.
That was so Kiri thing to say. Wow.
He opened his mouth a few times, but no words left it. Almost a minute passed, only sound came from the breeze shuffling leaves on the trees planted in front of his window. With time lapsing Kirishima looked less and less sure of what he had proposed, and it showed on his face.
Kaminari realized he needed to say something, but the part of his brain in charge for the speech wasn't cooperating so he did the next best thing he thought of.
Suddenly, Kirishima found his face full of blond hair tickling his skin on some places, hands that he envisioned touching him times and times were circling him and holding strong, a body he wanted to touch fully pressed at his own.
Kaminari hugged him.
And then he felt it, soft lips connecting with the side of his face, a fleeting touch, but as electrifying as the strongest punch.
"Sure."
He almost missed the quiet agreement, but when he did, his heart thumped loudly in his ribcage.
