Angela rushed into the kitchen after quickly changing into more suitable clothes for a princess, the Valkyrie suit lying in a heap on the floor below her room.
There wasn't much time for her to change as it was.

She noticed that the pie she had put in the oven was actually moved, but she didn't mind. It seemed like Ana had moved it onto a little platter with a glass casing to keep it as fresh as possible. And warm. After a small inspection, she noticed that the platter was actually some sort of electric heating system. It was turned on low, keeping the apple pie warm. She lifted the warm lid from off of the pie. Taking a few plates from out of the cupboard, she cut two slices. One going on one plate and the other on the other.
She held a plate in each hand, walking. She entered the dining room where she had often spent meals alone after her parents' death. With a sigh followed by an almost-forced smile, Angela placed the two plates down.

As if on cue, a pair of footsteps approached and stopped by the doorway. "Angela? What are you doing? And with... Is that pie?"

Angela Ziegler turned, her golden locks framing her narrow face almost perfectly. There were small flames that were dancing on the tops of marbly looking wax; The orange and yellow mixed together to create a stunning tango. Together, the candle flames licked lightly at her pale face, bringing a bit of a rosy color into her nose and cheeks.
When she looked at the man standing in the doorway, the candles weren't the only things that were lit. Her eyes had also lit with color, the cool blues of them contrasting with the warm colors of the flames. Her heart also leapt. Although she was already planning on talking with her most trusted knight, her heart was pounding unexpectedly.
"G-Genji . . ! I didn't know you were so close . . . and yes, it is pie! Would you care to have a slice?" She questioned, holding out one of the plates in front of her. Her voice seemed awkwardly surprised, as if she hadn't quite yet prepared her words.

He took in a waft of air, taking in the scent of apple pie. "Of course, Milady."
Genji flashed her a smile. "It does smell quite delicious . . . did Miss Ana make this?"

"No no, I Actually did." Her light giggles floated through the air. "I figured since I had a lot of time, I might as well treat my favorite guard to something nice."

"That's very sweet of you, Milady." Genji took a seat as Angela handed him a plate and fork.

As he stabbed the fork into the pie crust and through the filling, the princess waited, nervous and anxious to hear and/or see her knight's reaction. When he brought it to his lips, his eyes lit up. The taste was so flavorful to the point it felt like vibrant colors dancing. It was like a perfectly conducted orchestra in the form of a delicious apple pie.
Trying to contain himself from ravaging his slice, Genji placed his fork down momentarily.
"This is absolutely amazing Milady, I've never tasted something so perfect."

The blonde princess laughed, a slight rosy color tinting her cheeks from the compliment. "I felt like I should do something for you, as you're always fighting on my behalf." She paused for a second, her thoughts trailing to ones of the war. "Pardon me asking this, but how has... The, erm, battle been? I heard from Commander Morrison that the army has been receiving aid."

"Ah yes. That's quite true. There's been an unexpected field medic among us recently. We are unaware of where her intentions lay, but her healing technology is very advanced. I've felt her perform her miracles." Genji seemed to suppress a grin but then gave up. "She's wonderful and quite very helpful. I hope you get to meet her one day Milady."

Angela gave a nervous giggle, unable to hold back her amusement. "I sure hope I get to meet her. I must thank her for keeping you alive... A-and the others of course..!"

The knight looked at her, "Angela-"
He stopped short, his eyes flicking to the large glass windows.
Suddenly, he lunged forwards, pushing the princess out of her seat and to the ground. As he did so, glass shattered, something whizzing overhead followed by the noise of something burying itself into the wall. He landed on top, his knees on either side of her legs and the palms of his hands on either side of her head.

Angela's face flushed bright red from the sudden action even though she knew there was most likely a reasonable reason as to why he did such a thing. Staring up, her blue eyes met dark ones, dark eyes that she didn't want to break eye contact with. They captivated her and made her forget the position they were in. Or at least, that was until Genji finally said something.
"I'm so very sorry M-Milady!" He quickly rose to his feet and extended his hand to help her up. "If I frightened you, I'm very sorry."

"It's alright Genji... But what was that all about?" Her voice was quiet and soft, the young woman still flustered.

Before answering, he walked over to the wall, spotting something stick-like protruding from it. An arrow. An arrow with... A ribbon tied to it? Genji took a step closer. Upon closer examination, he realized there were words written on it in very tiny print.
They read:

The Reyes' kingdom
Has a weapon that
Could win the war in less than a moon.
To end the war soon,
The princess must die
Or
Princess Angela Ziegler
Marry
Prince Gabriel Reyes

Genji clenched a fist around the arrow and yanked it out with much more force than needed. Either option were options that he was not going to allow to happen by any means.
