The two had been going at it for what seemed like hours, but instead it had only been a gruesome, tiring few minutes.
Empty shotguns and shotgun shells littered the ground alongside dozens of metallic shurikens. Amidst the mix of discarded weapons, blood was spattered all throughout, both sides of this one on one fight sustaining injuries.

Gabriel Reyes, or rather Reaper, had one of his large hands covering a wound in his should, blood trickling out and down his arm and hand.
Genji Shimada, the green knight, was kneeling down on the ground, holding his own hands against his own wounds, but his were in his stomach.
Bullet wounds weren't very clean to say the least, but the knight was holding on.

Although they were wounds from shotguns, they did little damage from farther away, and genji had kept his distance while fighting for the most part.

"You're really something, kid," Reaper growled as be pulled another one of the green knight's shurikens out of his side, blood dripping out. "I didn't think a knight like you would act like such a ninja."

"Aha, but Reyes, what most don't know is that I trained as a shinobi before I did knight," Genji gave a small smile, thinking of his Japanese roots and all of the training with his brother, Hanzo Shimada.

As Genji reached to throw more of his three-pronged metallic stars at his opponent, Reaper pulled his shotguns up to face him. The green knight flicked his wrist, three shurikens being thrown in a line at the man cloaked in black. However, at the same time that cloaked man pushed down with his taloned fingers on the triggers. Both men hit with completely accurate shots, but as we all know, a shotgun blast does more damage than ninja stars do on average.

Blood seeped out of fresh wounds.

A man in black grunted in pain.

A man with a green presence fell silent.

And a soft noise sounded on the roof of the pavilion.

A warm glow.

ABOUT TWO HOURS PRIOR

"Alright everyone, listen up!" Jack Morrison called out to the people in the group in front of him. He stood tall as he addressed those who had heard a singular rumor spreading around the Ziegler kingdom. "As many of you have heard, Princess Angela was taken during the night by Talon. And if you didn't know, which I doubt is the case, Talon is an assassination team that is a part of the Reyes kingdom."

A slim woman with spiky brown hair spoke up, "Um, excuse me, capt'n, but will we be goin afta them?" there was a British accent quite very evident in her voice with how she spoke.

Jack gave a sigh and a small reassuring smile, "Yes, Lena. We are. Which, folks, I want to talk to you all about. Tonight, in approximately two hours, the wretched king, Gabriel Reyes, plans to make the Princess his wife. And we must stop such an act as I'm sure that she doesn't have any interest in him, especially if Talon kidnapped her."

Lena tilted her head in question, to which Jack nodded, about to address the question she left unspoken.

"Let's just say, we have someone that has. Well... Infiltrated them."

With that, the gathering fell silent and dispersed, each going to a respective position in a neatly lined up army-like formation.
Reinhardt Wilhelm took the front of the entire group, holding up a large, sturdy shield that had the ability to protect a good number of people. He stood at at least seven foot in height and his shoulder were broad and despite his age, he was quite muscular.
By his right stood a Russian woman who went under the name "Zarya". She had mainly joined the side of the Ziegler kingdom since one of Talon's members, Sombra, had threatened a high ranking authority from the motherland.
To the left was Jack Morrison, the commander. He was trained and was a genetically engineered super soldier, made and built for combat.
Then behind them was everyone else....
Lena Oxton, Torbjorn and Brigitte Lindholm, Winston, Fareeha and Ana Amari, Symmetra, Hana Song, and many more.
And each and every one of them stood tall, ready to get their princess back.

BACK TO THE PRESENT

All of Angela Ziegler's loyal subjects came rushing in, challenging Reyes's forces. Guns fired and blades clashed.
Opponents met each other as each army faced each other.
Yells of pain and shouts of triumph could be heard as bodies began to fall, blood painting the earth.

This battle of bloodshed wasn't the primary focus of the night. There was one much smaller fight that was to determine the entire outcome.....

Angela Ziegler, or rather Mercy currently, landed upon the pavilion. When she had run, it was simply to grab her gear and make it back to join in the battle and be of some use.
-
When the sight of Genji's blood reached her eyes, she gently jumped from the pavilion's roof and let her wings softly land her. Gabriel Reyes was captivated by the light of something so mythical, so ethereal, to even comprehend what was going on.
-
Mercy lowered her hand, a warm glow starting to envelop both her and the man lying at her feet.
When the moment felt right, when she could feel a soul in her grasp, she raised her hand and shouted three words,

"Heroes never die..!"

But anyways, I dedicate this update to saltynugget8 cause their gf sent a me a message asking when I'd update. When in all honestly, I forgot that I was even writing a fanfic! But I guess that message reminded me xD.

Maybe I'll update again, maybe not, but I'll try!
