Chapter 35: The Escape from WICKED

Thomas  threw open a vent and crawled out. "Thomas." you hear Minho say as he gets up and you crawl out after him. "Y/N!" Newt says going to you. He hugs you and you tighten the embrace, scared for your life. 

"We gotta go. We gotta go, right now!" Thomas demanded going for the door. 
"What the hell are you talking about?" Minho asked.
"What do you mean 'we gotta go?'" Newt asked as you broke the embrace. "They're coming, come on. We gotta go. They're coming after us! Paige, she's still alive!" Thomas said out of breath from barricading the doors. You started to help him tie sheets around the handles as tightly as you could.

"What happened out there?" Frypan asked. "Aris, what happened?" he asked, but Aris looked stunned ad petrified as much as you did, except he felt like he couldn't move.
"Guys, just calm down and talk to us." Newt said, concerned. "She's still alive." Thomas said. "She's still alive." Thomas replied. "Who's she? Teresa?" Fry asked. "Ava." you replied.
"Ava?" Newt says confused (A/N: When Newt said Ava's name I found it amusing because Thomas Sangster has a sister named Ava XD. Anyone else, or just me???)

You continued helping Thomas tie the doors. "Will you guys just turn around and talk to us." Newt said. "It's WICKED!" Thomas yelled. You turned around as you see flood of panic spread on everyone's faces. Then you say "It's still WICKED, it's always been WICKED."
"Y/N, the mattresses." Thomas said grabbing one of them. You immediately go to help him. You start to have trouble breathing as you helped Thomas place the mattresses in front of the door. "Y/N." Newt said, placing his hand on the mattresses you had just sat down. "What did you see?"

You felt a pain in your chest and felt like you couldn't say a word. You wanted to break down and cry, but you knew you couldn't and holding it in made you feel worse. You were scared, for your friends, for Newt, and yourself. 

"We'll explain later." you finally reply in shaky voice. "But, we need to go. NOW!" you raise your voice a little. "Thomas, are the doors barricaded enough?" you asked. "Yeah, let's go."

You all headed through the vent. First was Thomas, followed by you, Newt, Minho, Frypan, Winston, then Aris. You started to crawl through the vents. Once Thomas punched a vent open, you all came out. Thomas checked if the coast was clear, then came back to make sure everyone was out.

"Okay, let's go." Thomas said. 
"You guys go ahead. There's something I gotta do." said Aris. You knew what he meant because you both went through that plan in the cafeteria. 
"What are you talking about?" Thomas asked. "Trust me, it's important." Aris said. "You wanna get out of here, right? Just go."
"-I'll go with him." Winston volunteered. 
"Ok, Winston, go! Go! Come on!" Thomas said, starting to run as Aris and Winston went back into the vents. "Are you sure we can trust this kid?"Frypan asked. "I've known for two years, i'm pretty sure we can." You say. Yeah, and you don't wanna know where we'd be without him." Thomas agreed. As you turn the corner, you bump into Dr. Crawford, Teresa's doctor.

"What are you kids doing out?" she asked. Just then, alarms went off all around you. "Shit." You say in a loud whisper. You exchange looks with the others, then looked back at Dr. Crawford.
Thomas then grabs Dr.Crawford and says "Take me to her, NOW!" he demanded. Dr. Crawford looked frightened, but also a little annoyed that she was getting bossed around by a bunch of teenagers.

While being controlled by Thomas, she lead you down the hallway to the med wing. As you just turn a corner, a guard yells "Freeze! Stay where you are!" he then shoots his gun. You all quickly back out of the way, Dr. Crawford screams. "Why are they shooting at us?" Frypan asked. "Why wouldn't they?" you reply. 

"I've spotted them." you hear the guard say. Minho stops and turns around. "Minho." Thomas warns. "What the hell are you doing?"
Minho then charges down the hall. "Minho!" you yell in protest.
Just as the guard barely appears around the corner, Minho kicks the guard in the chest, knocking him him to the ground. You all ran to him. "Shit, Minho." you say, impressed.
