You got in a truck with Sonya, Newt, Fry, and Minho while the others went with Harriet. They drove you to a different mountain.

Once you reached your destination, you get out of the truck you were in to see a camp full of people. "They've been planning this for over a year now." Harriet explained. "This is all for us.

Sonya spoke up. "You guys are lucky you found us when you did. We're moving out at first light. Where's Vince?"
"-Somewhere over there, I think." said a man. "Who's Vince?"  you asked. "He's the one who decides if you get to stay." Harriet said. "Well, he's gonna have no choice but to let us stay." you say. "Yeah, and I thought the Right Arm was supposed to be an army." said Minho. "Yeah, we were." came a voice.

You turn to your right to see a man with longish blonde hair come up to you. "This is all that's left of us. Lot of good people died getting us this far."
He looked at you and your friends. "Who are They?"
"They're immunes." said Harriet. "Caught em coming up the mountain."
"Did you check em?" Vince asked. "I know these two; Aris and Y/N. I trust them."
"-Well, I don't. Check 'em." the man said sternly.

Hey, boss." said a man. You looked in his direction. Brenda was breathing very heavily and fell over. "Brenda! Brenda!" Jorge yelled. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Brenda gasped. "What's going on with her?" Vice asked. "I don't know. Brenda, are you all right?" Jorge said.

Vince noticed the Brenda's leg and saw the bite. "Crank! We got a Crank!" Vince said pointing a gun at Brenda. "No!" everyone including you yelled. You stepped in front of Vince. "Step back!" he told you. "No. This just happened. She's not dangerous yet." you explained. "You shouldn't have brought her here." he yelled. "Listen-"
"No, you listen. We let Cranks on here now, the safe haven doesn't last a week."

"LISTEN TO ME!" you scream. "I promised her help. She's getting it. She means a shit ton to this man and probably me. There's gotta be something you can do."

"Yeah, there is." Vince said. He cocked the gun. "I can take her out of her misery."
"Wrong fuckin' answer!" you step in front of Brenda. "Y/N, no!" Newt yelled.

"-Vince, that's enough!" came a female voice. "Let him go."

The men let go of Jorge. "She's infected, doc." Vince said to the woman. She was medium height. Brown hair and blue eyes. "There's nothing we can do for her." said Vince.

"No. But, they can." the woman said, pointing to you and Thomas. "Hello, Y/N and Thomas. "How the hell does everyone know these two?" Minho asked. "You know us?" Thomas asked.

"Interesting." the woman said. "It makes sense they put them in the mazes. Though I must admit, I was worried they'd kill you after what you did." she checked Brenda's pulse.

"What we did?" asked Thomas. "What didn't we do?" you asked yourself in a mildly joking manner.

"The first time we spoke, Thomas you said you couldn't take it anymore...watching your friends die one by one. The last time we spoke, Y/N...you gave me the coordinates of every WICKED compound, trial, and lab."

"She was our source." Vince said in awe.  "We couldn't have pulled all this off without them." said the woman. "Take her to the tent. Get these guys some warm clothes."

Jorge and another man picked Brenda up and took her. "Thank you." you say. "It's the least we can do." said the woman. "Thomas, Y/N. I need to get some blood from you."
You nodded to Newt, telling him it was okay, then followed the woman.

She got you to a tent and put needles in you and Thomas to get some blood out. "I forgot to ask your name." you say. "Dr. Mary." said the woman.

"In the beginning, we were lost." said Dr. Mary. "All we know for sure was the the younger you were, the stronger your chances."

"You worked for WICKED?" you asked. She nodded. "Long time ago. You know at first we had the best intentions. Find a cure, save the world."
"But, you knew it wouldn't be that easy to do both." you say. She nodded as she poured a liquid into another liquid.
"It was clear you kids were the key, because you were immune. But, why? Eventually we found an answer. An enzyme produced by the brains of the immune. Once separated from the blood stream, it can serve as the powerful agent to slow the spread of the virus."
"I thought it was something in our white blood cells that made us immune." you say. "That's what we thought too, until we noticed something different in your brain activity." Dr. Mar replied.

"So you found a cure?" Thomas asked. "Not exactly." Dr. Mary replied. "The enzyme can't be manufactured, only harvested from the immune. The young. Of course that didn't stop WICKED. If they had their way, they'd sacrifice a whole generation. All for this." She held up a needle  with a clear liquid filled with the enzyme from you and Thomas.

"A gift of biology. Of evolution. But one not meant for all of us."
Dr. Mary injected the shot in Brenda's forearm. And almost immediately, Brenda's breathing softened.

"How long will that give her?" you ask. "It's different for everyone. A few months maybe." she replied. "But, that's the catch, isn't it. She'll always need more." she turned to Jorge "Let's go outside and let them rest." she turned back to you and Thomas. "Y/N, Thomas. You know she can't come with us, right?"
"-I'm not gonna let that happen." you say. Dr. Mary gives you a pitiful smile, then leaves.

You sit by Brenda's side and take a hold of her hand while still asleep. "I'm not giving up on you." you whisper. You then see the silver locket by her side and pick it up. Thomas stood behind you. You open the locket to see a boy. "He was my brother." you hear Brenda's voice say groggily. "Oh, hey. How are you feeling?" you ask, giving her back the locket.

"You remind me of him, Thomas. He always saw the best in people."
"Where is he now?" Thomas asked. "I don't know. When we were kids, we were taken in by one of WICKED's camps. They gave us a bunch of tests. They didn't want me. They wanted him, though. They didn't even let me say goodbye."
"What was his name?" you asked. "George."

Complete numbness took over you when you remembered seeing the name George crossed out on the wall of the Glade.

"I had a brother too. His name was Justin. He died." you say.
"I'm sorry." Brenda said. Thomas took out the wood carving Chuck gave him . The memory of Chuck and Justin brought you to tears.

"This was Chuck." Thomas said, handing the carving to Brenda. "How did he die?" she asked. "Saving us." Thomas replied. "Too young. Only twelve." you reply shakily. "I'm sorry." she said. "Get some rest." Thomas said.

"Wait, Brenda." you say. "How did you know my name when we first met?"
Brenda smiled. "I knew you'd ask eventually. When me and George were taken by WICKED, you were there for us. You and I were like best friends in that time. It tore you apart to see me thrown out. I remember how especially mad you were when they never even let me say goodbye. You said you hated them forever."

"I guess I sort of knew I had a connection with you. And I'm glad we met again. Thank you Brenda. Get some rest.
