Chapter 42: Family Time

-Jae Hwa's POV-

I have been given a week's break to do whatever I would like to do. I decide to visit my family back in Busan.

I feel that it is the right thing to do; it's been about 2 years since I last saw them when I basically ran away from them. I have to say, I miss my old routine. Being part of this company is more stressful than my old life and things are becoming screwed over.

I pack up a bag with necessities when visiting and I check out with the company before heading out. I then go to the subway to head home.

When I get to my house, I hesitate. I am standing in front of my door, not knowing what to do.

I decide to knock softly, seeing what will happen. Nothing happens for a minute until the door opens an inch.

"Jae Hwa..." My appa says softly.

"Appa...I-I missed you...and umma..."

Then he opens the door widely with a huge smile and hugs me tightly.

"Who's at the-Jae Hwa?! Darling...welcome home!" My umma exclaims.

We form a group-family hug and stay this way for about a minute.

"Come eat some dinner...we just made it."

"You know how your umma is...always making extra food...and thank God she does that!"

My appa and I both laugh at the comment he just made.

When we sit down to eat, my parents start bombarding me with many questions.

"What is the company like?" "What do you do?" "Are they treating you nicely?" "Do you have any friends?" "You're so skinny! Do they feed you enough?!" "How are you feeling?" "Do you love what you do?" "What is Seoul like?" "What does the company look like?" "Do you get paid?"

"Aish, so many questions to answer umma and appa! Please slow down~"

"Arrasso Jae Hwa~ take your time answering each question...in depth."

I laugh at the last part and soon enough we are holding our stomachs from laughing so much and so hard.

"Wow, I haven't laughed this much and so hard in such a long time!"

"Well, I'm just happy to see my little Jae Hwa all grown up and smiling because she is so happy for following her dreams," my appa smiles warmly.

"Thanks to you and umma, I was given this opportunity~"

"We're just so happy for you."

"So let's now start from the beginning...the company...I'm under JYP Entertainment, founded by Park JinYoung himself. He's a very talented and kind sunbain and mentor. His program has helped helped me progress with my dancing skills. I have been fortunate enough to be selected right from the start to train under the company to dance whatever I need to do. I was in Got7's music video, who is a boy band under JYP. It was a veey interesting and fun experience. I am friends with the other dancers. I am treated well umma and appa! I get more than enough to eat~ I feel wonderful and of course I love to dance thanks to you two! Seoul is just like Busan-beautiful at night, lots of good food, nice little shops...the Han River is so nice...I hope you can come visit one day! The company is a very large place with nice dance rooms. I can practice whenever I want...it's great! I train yet I do work at the same time so no yet technically yes," I smile thinking about my life in Seoul.

I purposely left out the scandal stuff...the stuff on the news. I'm surprised they don't know anything...or maybe they don't want to bring it up to stress me out.

No matter what, I'm so glad I'm home for a week with my parents.

"How long are you here for?" Umma asks.

"A week," I say.

"You should come to the studio to see everyone again and show everyone including the students your new skills skills and talents! It would be a surprise treat for us too!" Appa exclaims happily.

"That sounds fantastic! I'll gladly come everyday in the morning and then do some stuff on my own in the afternoon. We could do some family activities at night," I suggest.

"Sounds like after plan!" My parents smile at me.

I feel that this whole expereince has brought my family together.

-Grace's POV-

I think it's time I should let my family family and friends back home know about my situation.

I haven't talked to them nor even seen them in a couple of years.

It's been a week since I have left SM. I have seen various news articles about me, Jackson, Mark, and Jae Hwa. We're the current hottest news at the moment.

I decide to call my parents first of course.

"Grace?! Is that you?! Oh my god! Grace! It's so nice to be talking to you again!" My mom screams.

"Hi mom...everything is insane..."

"Huh?! What's going on sweetheart?!"

"I left the company because being an idol isn't where my heart belongs. I'm currently living in Busan with a job keeping me going. I might live here to find myself and my birthmother."

"Wow...just wow...you know Grace...do whatever your heart desires. Your father and I will support you no matter what."

"What is this I hear sweetpea?"

"Dad? Hi dad!"

"Grace...follow your dreams. I love you."

I really didn't expect them to react like this but that is why I love them...they support me no matter what.

Sorry it's been 3 months since I last updated!!! Life and school has been keeping me extra busy :( but I'm on winter break now so I can update all of my stories more :D

I'll be writing another fanfic of Taehyun of Winner called 'The Meaning of Life' so make sure to look out for it!
