"Why..." I asked in a dry voice. Stupid question but my brain was seriously lagging right now leaving that the only word it could get out.

She threw her head back laughing "you're fucking my husband and you ask me why I gave you a little push..." her eyes locked with mine as she brought her face inches from mine. "Be thankful that's all I did. I had much more planned than just that" She pulled away with her eyes scrunched up and appearing a bit more wolf than human. Something was off.

Well of course something is off Crystal. You're describing a wolf and a person as one who happens to be the wife of the guy you've been sleeping with for months in a bar for werewolves. Anything seemingly not off here?

I could still sense his and the others eyes on me but at least I didn't get the impression that they wanted to rip me apart. Maybe torture me a bit. As much as I wanted to just run out the door I decided I had best not push Nancy and finish the drink she made.

It took me a couple minutes as the margarita was incredibly strong. I didn't dare drink another. I threw down a twenty that I figured should more than cover the drink and started to leave when I felt some mammoth arm go across my back.

"What are you?" A large dark haired guy asked as he stalked closer to me. He had to be well over six foot and was rather intimidating. I think i might of been more comfortable with Nancy than this guy.

"What do you mean?" I asked trying to scoot further away from this guy while trying to keep my voice from trembling just as he brought his face just centimeters from mine. He closed his eyes as He deeply inhaled as if I was some exotic dish. I pulled back from him in the stool losing the fight to keep myself calm. I closed my eyes as turned my head hoping to block the view of him from myself while also lessening the smell of him.

The stool went out from underneath me causing me to crash on the ground. A bolt of pain ran up through my right arm and for a second, I thought for sure it was broken. Slowly i moved it letting me know that I hadn't.

I looked over to see the guy scramble to his feet while quickly trying to make it to the door as Nancy glared at him with her back towards me. There was no reason for me to see her face as rage flowed from her in waves. My brain tried to process what could of caused this. Surely she was use to seeing guys make passes at women who wasn't interested in them, right?

Before I got the chance to answer myself she was on top of me with her arm tightly around my throat now the target of her anger for reasons unknown to me. I could hear the bones threatening to break if her grip got anymore tighter.

"You're Mine! And as such I'm the only one you ever submit to. Don't you ever do it to another again or I guarantee you will not like the consequences that follow. Understand?"

I could feel blood dripping down the side of my neck. a sharp pain radiated from it combined with the crushing of my throat and I was sure it was the only reason I was still conscious even if it wouldn't be for long.

I started coughing uncontrollably as soon as she removed her grip letting me take in air once again while using my hand to try and stop the blood. I didn't dare try to move to quickly from the floor in case it ignited her anger even more.

Nancy's face softened as she noticed I was bleeding. "I'm...sorry. I didn't mean to..." she looked down to her hands and I noticed what looked like claws just protruding from her fingers. "... it's not as bad as what he'd of likely done if I hadn't stepped in. I'll get you the first aid kit in back."

I didn't say anything as she left and I wondered how the hell i was going to get out of this. Seeing the claws on her along with the thin layer of fur just made everything more real. Werewolves were real and apparently I'm just their toy to play with and discard when the mood arises. Whoever the asshole was I could somewhat understand, but Nancy? Is it her intent to just torture me? It's not like I forced Jake into my bed.

"Sit up and let me see it." Her now soft voice pulled me from my thoughts. It held no trace of the malice it held earlier. She crouched down on her knees as she poured rubbing alcohol onto a rag. "This will most likely sting a little."

Again I didn't answer her and ignored the sting when it did come. "What do you want from me?" I asked looking around at the others who was here and acting like this was a normal thing. Not one of them showed even the slightest interest.

"I'm not sure yet. This isn't what i had planned."

"What did you plan?"

She put the rag down and grabbed a large bandage. "Originally? Killing you."

I gulped at the words. "Why didn't you?"

She stopped and looked up towards the ceiling as if thinking about how she should answer. "You turned out to be my mate." She shook her head and smirked "Of course the bitch fucking my husband and trying to steal everything from me would be my mate. The moon goddess surely outdone herself with me this time..."

"I wasn't stealing anything. Jake and I was... " How the hell do I explain this? It's not the conversation one pictures having with the wife of the guy you've been with. Nancy raised her brow letting me know she was interested in my reply. "We were just... using each other." Fuck! That does sound like I was trying something. "He wasn't interested in me for anything other than..."

"I really don't want to hear about you two together." She waved her hand in the air brushing me off as she stood up

"No... he just wasn't going to leave you for me. Please understand that. I'm not a threat to you!"

I should let her go. I still hurt but I needed her to know that whatever their marriage problems were, I wasn't the cause of them. Maybe I should just tell her I'm transgender and he, like many men... and werewolves I guess now too, have a thing for us. Yeah, it's messed up. Fighting so long and hard for acceptance only to get with someone who doesn't accept me as a woman. Pathetic. All I can say is after being alone long enough... well, one tends to settle for what they can get. It is what it is.

I followed Nancy into the back room that appeared more like a small living room than anything connected to a bar. There was an old tan couch that a blonde haired male who didn't look old enough to get into the bar played a video game. A large flat screen television that was far nicer than anything else in the room showed Some shooting game on it.

"I'm driving her home so I need you to tend the bar." He pulled his eyes off the screen to look me over. I stepped back nervously as it was clear he didn't like me.

"I'm fine to-"

"No, you're not! I wasn't offering, I was making a statement." She said sternly looking back at me over her shoulder. I nodded taking another step back.

"Will do." He said tossing the controller on the couch as he got up.

I knew then there was no way I was ever getting out of this.
