It was late at night when I was awoken from the castle doors bursting open. I got dressed and headed downstairs. It was Annick, she was breathing heavily.
"Adele! Get your shit and let's go! Eric is in danger." She yelled.
I ran to her. "What? What happened to him."
Annick slightly pushed me. "Nothing for you to worry about, my job is to keep you safe, and here is the safest place."
I got angry. "Where is Eric damnit!"
"The lycans got him. He's caged up in their chamber." Annick replied. "ADELE COME NOW!"
"I'm coming." I grabbed my cloak and headed for the door.
"The hell you are." Annick pulled me but I pulled my arm away.
"Eric is in danger and I'm not just going to sit here. So I'm coming." I friend my teeth.
"There's a horse tied outside, and their castle is across the bridge then straight through the forest.." A voice said.
Both Annick and me turned around and saw it was Adele. She came up to me and gave me a dagger. "Take this, you'll need it."
I took it and headed outside.
"Elly! We'll be right behind you." Annick yelled.I got on the black horse and rode it across the bridge and through the forest. I approached a big castle that had twigs and branches wrapped around the walls. I slowly got off the horse while looking up. I was unsure of what I was going to face inside. I slowly went through the doors that led to bloody walls and a blood stained carpet.
There was no one around, it was quiet. I slowly walked while glancing above me at the chandelier they had, the crystals on it was even blood stained. There were also two couches but they were torn up.
Sounds were coming from a staircase that led downstairs. I took a torch off the wall and slowly went down the small stairs. There were bookcases and cobwebs everywhere. It was a pretty huge chamber compared to the one in the vampire's castle. Torture devices were scattered around, and so were lycans.
I heard a whip crack and a groan of pain. I ran and hid behind one of the bookcases and peaked through it. The lycans were crowded around something. I looked closer and saw it was Eric. He was in chains on the floor and full of blood. A lycan picked up a whip and snapped it against Eric's back.
"I'm going to ask you once more, where is she Eric?" The lycan growled.
Eric looked up at it and hissed. "She's no longer your concern."
The lycan growled and clawed Eric's arm. He yelled in pain and started breathing heavily.
"What's so special about this girl? Hm?" The lycan grabbed Eric's jaw. "Why are you so protective of her?"
Eric spat in its face. "Go to hell."
The lycan punched him. "You're an idiot! Trying to protect some human." The lycan started walking in circles around Eric and then he grabbed his jaw again. "Unless, it's because you actually love her." The lycan snarled showing a shadow of its sharp teeth.
Eric didn't reply, he just looked down in pain. I looked next to me and saw keys hanging on the wall. I grabbed them carefully and quietly.
The lycan laughed. "You're actually in love with her? And I thought you didn't have a soft spot."
The lycan kicked and punched Eric to the ground.
When the lycans left, I crept out of the shadows and ran to Eric. His eyes widened and he placed his hands on my face.
"Elizabeth! What are you doing here?!"
I shushed him and hugged him tightly. "I saw them torture you, I need to get you out of here."
Eric grabbed my hands. "No Elizabeth, you need to leave before they hurt you."
Tears formed in my eyes. "I'm not leaving Eric." I pulled out the keys and began unlocking the chains. I helped him up and wrapped my cloak around him.
"How did you find me?" He questioned.
I slightly smiled and replied, "Adele."
He nodded. "Of course."We slowly went up the stairs and Eric pulled me behind him. "We might have to run for the door."
I nodded okay and Eric started counting.
"One, two, three."
We ran to the door when all of a sudden a lycan jumped in front of us. Eric grabbed me in his arms and took my dagger.
"Eric. I believe you have something of mine." A voice said.
We turned around and saw a man coming down the stairs. He had long dark brown hair and he showed a chest full of claw marks.
"Stay close." Eric whispered in my ear.
"Aren't you going to introduce us Eric?" The man said. "Hello Elizabeth, I'm Lupus, Eric's father."
His eyes turned yellow and he started transforming into a lycan when all of a sudden the doors bursted open.
"Damn you weird looking dogs!" Annick screamed while spraying a gas that made the lycans start to fall.
Some leaped to her but Adele went in front and used two swords to finish it.
Another came towards us and Eric used the dagger to slit its throat.
"Eric! You guys get out of here." Adele screamed.
Eric and I ran outside when all of a sudden there was a lot of smoke coming out of the castle. Annick and Adele ran out and got on their horses.
"Come on! It won't hold them for long!" Annick yelled.
We got on the horse and followed them back to the castle.I passed by the hallway and peaked through Eric's room. He was sitting on his bed trying to mend his wounds. He groaned in pain and accidentally knocked the alcohol on the floor.
I walked in to help him and he immediately looked up. I sat next to him and took what was left of the alcohol and poured it on to a cloth.
"This is going to hurt." I said.
Eric sucked in a breath and I started dabbing the alcohol on the wound that he had on his arm. He was breathing heavily and I could feel his heart pounding out of his chest.
I then wrapped a white bandage around it and secured it.
"Thank you." He said.
I looked up. "It's nothing, I just hope you feel better soon."
Eric grabbed my face gently. "No, thank you for rescuing me."
I felt myself turning red, I looked down and smiled.
He smiled back. "Stay a bit."
I looked up and nodded okay.I helped Eric get inside the sheets and I opened the fireplace in his room. His room was big and had black marbles floors. His walks were a dark red and his bed had black curtains coming down. It was a bedroom for a king.
I laid down next to him and placed my head on his shoulder.
"Thank you." I told him.
He looked over. "For what?"
My eyes started to slowly close.
"For saving me."
