 - Lily -

A week and a half into the Winter holidays and Lily was absolutely dying of boredom. Sure, her parents were great. And her two Muggle friends were happy to see her, but there was nothing to do! Her muggle friends never treated her the same, and she had broken up with her boyfriend a year ago. There was only Petunia to keep her company, but she made it very obvious that she hated her sister.

Lily sat in her parent's living room with her parents, Petunia and her new fiance. She had broken the news of their engagement only a few days before. A christmas marriage that would commence while she was at Hogwarts, how adorable. This Vernon suited her sister entirely. They were both stuck up, nosy and generally horrible adults. The best her sister could do. Hopefully Lily could do better.

"Excuse me, i'm just going to run down to the shop. Anyone want anything?" Lily asked after a a long, awkward silence.

"No. And it's almost seven o'clock and it's dark out. Isn't it a bit late to be walking out?" Petunia said, while Vernon just solemnly shook his head.

Lily walked out of the room, slipped on her shoes and walked out towards the shop. She hated the area she lived in and the dark to be honest, but she was willing to do anything to get out of that house.

The shop was ten minutes down the road, and she'd only been walking for five minutes when she bumped into Remus.

"Hey Remus!" Lily said cheerfully.

"Hey Lily. How's your holiday."

"Euh, so boring!" Lily groaned. "What about you?"

"Same. Boring as hell." Remus replied with a slight smile.

"So... what are you up too?" Lily asked cheerfully, looking up at the darkening sky and the full moon just rising beneath the clouds.

"Oh... I was just going to the shop." Remus lied anxiously.

"Oh me too." Lily said happily and started walking again.

Remus stayed firmly rooted to the spot.

"Whats wrong, Lupie?" Lily asked affectionately.

"Nothing. I -" A large groan escaped his mouth and he doubled over.

"Remus? What's wrong? Should I get someone?" Lily said.

"No. I'm fine. I need to go...there. Don't follow me." Remus panted, and faster than a dog, he ran away into the trees near the shop.

Lily gasped breathlessly. "What on Earth?" She said to herself.

Then before she could think straight, she was racing after him. She headed towards the trees repeatedly shouting for Remus. Something blundered through the trees away from her. For a second she thought it was him, but it was far too misshapen and huge. Nevertheless, she followed it fearfully. She was just two metres behind it when a sound escaped from it.

"No. Run. I don't what you to see this. Please run!" It groaned.

Lily screamed arubtly. Then clasped a hand over her mouth. "No! No! Remus? What's happening?" She whispered, as tears of panic, confusion and fear filled her eyes.

"I'll explain another time. Now run!" He shouted, and this time he sounded almost wolflike.

Lily stepped back, turned around and ram, as tears streamed down her cheeks. She escaped the forest and reached the shop. Her back leaned against  the wall as she panted, trying to recover herself. It all happened so quickly. And what had even happened. Lily slid down the wall, staring up at the sky. At the full moon. Wait...
