"Cheers babes"

Ellie slurred whilst holding another shot glass up to my face. Looking at the transparent liquid made me feel queasy. I had told Ellie a thousand times that I hated Tequila, but, seeing as it was my birthday, she thought it was the best idea to buy it.

We were having a few (a lot of) drinks before we headed out for the evening. David hadn't text me, so we just planned to go to a bar and see where the night took us.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed at the lack of contact from David, not because he was famous or anything like that, I was just infatuated by him, I couldn't really put my finger on it.

We both necked the shots back and screwed our faces up. I grabbed my rum and coke, trying to find anything to get rid of the taste in my mouth and burning in my throat.

"That's fucking disgusting" I groaned, placing the red plastic shot glass on the marble breakfast bar in the kitchen.

Ellie laughed, grabbing her drink. She'd opted for a vodka and coke mix. "Yeah, well, it's doing the job isn't it!"

I grabbed a cigarette out of the packet and looked at Ellie. "Coming?"

She shook her head and pulled a disgusted face. "I think that'll make me sick." She covered her mouth as if she was going to gag.

I shook my head and rolled my eyes. Typical Ellie, always getting too drunk before we even left the house.

I walked, very unsteadily, over to the balcony and placed my left hand on it to stable myself. I lit the cigarette and started watching the streets of Los Angeles below me. All these people, in their own world with their own troubles. Crazy really.

I started giggling to myself, realising I was pretty drunk. It had been a couple of hours since David left and I was wondering if he'd already forgotten about me. I was confused as to how I'd become so attached to someone I knew practically nothing about.

I thought about watching a few of his videos to find out more about him, or googling him. The thing that put me off of doing that was it could be a completely exaggerated persona. Like, I doubt James Charles was so upbeat and energetic all the time, it's just vamped up a bit for the viewers. I wanted to know the real David, excuse the cliche quote.

With that, Ellie came stumbling out in to the balcony with my phone to her ear.

"It's David!" She mouthed to me, pointing to the phone.

I tried listening in on what he was saying but I couldn't hear, and just had to guess from the answers Ellie was giving.

"Oh is that what she said...well yeah, it is her birthday I was thinking we could go clubbing or something but the party definitely sounds better...yeah we have been drinking" she started laughing at something he said. "I can do that...okay just text the address...see you soon!...no it's fine we'll get an Uber but thank you...bye!"

Ellie didn't break eye contact with me the whole time of the conversation, which I found quite off and uncomfortable seeing as we weren't actually talking to each other, just having a weird staring contest.

She hung up the phone and started dancing stupidly. "We're going to partyyyyyy" she sung.

I started stupid dancing with her, party out of intoxication, partly out of excitement that he actually rang.
