I walked outside of Jame's apartment complex, to be greeted by David standing outside of a white Tesla. Interestingly, no camera.
"Hey, stranger" he smiled, leaning in to give me a hug. The weird thing is, this hug was longer and tighter than any hug I'd had in a while. This was more of an embrace.
"Hey" I whispered into the hug. As we let go I looked him up and down. He was wearing his classic all black ensemble, with red vans. Shit. He looked good. "Where's the camera today?" I asked, looking in to the window of the car to see whether it was on the seat.
David held his hands up. "You've got my undivided attention tonight."
I smiled and opened the car door. "How lucky am I?" I asked, sarcastically.
David laughed and got in the drivers side, whilst I admired the car from the passenger side.
"Wow" I whispered.
David turned the car on and started driving, that's when it hit me. "Er David?" He glanced at me then looked back at the road.
"Yeah?"
"Where are we going?" I chuckled. He joined in.
"Let's just go to my house, it's easier than going out and having people assume things"
Ouch. Was he saying he didn't want to be seen with me?
"Okay." I slumped back into my chair and made small chit chat the rest of the journey.
About 20 minutes later we were at David's house. It was massive. Definitely a mansion. Definitely worth a lot more than I could ever afford.
As I got out the car I stood for a while admiring the house. "Are you a millionaire?" I asked him, my jaw was almost touching the floor at how in shock I was.
David started laughing at me and took my hand, pulling me forward. Out of instinct, I wrapped my hand back around his and started walking. It felt nice, and David didn't seem to mind so I didn't let go.
He opened the front door and I let go of his hand, walking around the open plan house to look at his different decorative touches. There was a pool table next to the kitchen and a massive L-Shape sofa in the living room. The patio doors were glass, so I could see straight out to the pool. Behind the pool was the most beautiful view of the L.A mountains, a view that definitely added a few thousand on to the price of the beautiful house.
David walked up behind me, taking in the view as well. Eventually, I turned around to look at him.
"So..." I started tapping my foot nervously. "What shall we do now?"
"Get food, watch a film?" David suggested.
I nodded and followed him over to the sofa. I took the spot in the corner as I know that's the most favourited part of an L-shape sofa. He tutted and pushed my shoulder playfully, before pulling out his phone.
"Pizza, Chinese, Chipotle? What are you feeling?" He asked, scrolling down the screen.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Surprise me"
David smiled, still looking at his phone. "Okay."
A few minutes later he put his phone down and a movie started playing on his tv. He must've noticed I was confused and started laughing. "You can connect Netflix to your phone and tv, so you can pick it on your phone but it plays on the tv" he explained.
"I see."
The Pursuit of Happyness started playing on the screen and I knew immediately he was going to see me cry this evening. I sunk down into the sofa, and wrapped my legs into my chest.
"Here."
David passed me the left side of a massive blanket and I chucked it over my body. I thanked him and started getting butterflies as I felt how close he was to me.

An hour and two pizzas later, I was completely engrossed in the film. It was the scene where they had to sleep in the bathroom because they'd been evicted, and I could feel the tears gathering in my eyes.
It took one blink for them to trickle down my face, I just hoped David was as in to the film as I was, so he didn't notice.
I felt him put his hand on my shoulder. Smiling, he asked if I was okay.
I nodded my head and wiped my eyes. "Just sad, isn't it"
He nodded and opened his left arm out, gesturing for my to lean back into his body and cuddle. "Come here"
I leaned back, my heart completely racing and my face still wet from crying. David leaned his head on top of mine and his grip tightened around my waist.
"I'm happy you're back" he whispered.
"So am I." I whispered back.
