EDITED!!

We returned back home from our trip to the park. He dropped me off in front of my apartment building saying that there was something he had to do all of a sudden. Once I got to my apartment, I was exhausted like hell. Deciding to crash on the couch, I turned on the flat screen hanging from the ceiling above the fireplace. As I was flicking through the channels, I suddenly came across this show that featured local celebrities. What caught my attention was the fact that Henry and I were being featured. Our little trip to the carnival was shown; even our picnic just a while ago was featured. I didn’t know that we were being followed at all. I guess I wasn’t surprised that much, people have been following me ever since my company boomed into the scene. I shrugged and I decide to go to bed.

The next morning, the alarm went off at six in the morning. Lazily, I made my way to the bathroom to have a shower. Once finished, I headed towards the walk in closet beside my bathroom and picked out a red, silk blouse and a light gray pencil skirt. Matching it with gray Louboutin pumps and studied myself on the mirror. Once I was satisfied with what I was wearing, I sat down in front of the vanity and pulled out my mascara and red lipstick from the drawer and went on my way.

I arrived at my office and noticed that people were staring at me-- again. What now? I pushed the button that calls the elevator and the doors immediately opened. I entered the elevator and realized that there was a group of my employees waiting behind me. They were staring at me with smiling faces and some girls were even giggling. I just stayed quiet and looked at them seriously giving them my your screwed look. They immediately went into serious mode and I think that did it. The ride up to the thirtieth floor was quiet after I gave my employees my stern look.

As the elevator came to a stop in front of the lobby of my office, I noticed that it smelled different. My office was filled with the sweet scent of carnations. Hmm. I searched for the source of the scent but I saw nothing. When I turned to look at my employees, were all looking at me and some of them were blushing.

“What is it now people? What’s so funny?” I asked them, glaring at every person in the room. My secretary approached me with a shy smile on her lips. “What is it Stacey?”

“Ms. Grant, I think you should head to your office. We have a situation.” She handed me a bunch of documents fastened on a clipboard and I walked towards my office. Once I was just a few meters away from my office, the scent of the carnations became stronger. While I was reading the documents in my hand, I absentmindedly opened the double doors leading to my office. Lifting my head forward, I was stunned to see what I saw next. It was the most amazing scene I ever saw.

Carnations of every color were placed in my office. There were blue, pink, red, fuchsia, white, and orange. Countless bouquets were placed on every surface; there were bouquets on my desk, carnations also covered the tables against the wall, and there were also bouquets lying on the floor. I couldn’t walk to my desk to settle my bag. Once I’ve made my way to my desk, I pulled out my phone from my bag to call Henry but the small parchment paper on top of one of the bouquets easily distracted me.

Sydney, words can’t express the feelings that I felt the night we spent together, so I’ll let these flowers do the talking for me. I know they are your favorite.

Yours faithfully,

Henry

As I read the letter in my hands, my phone started to buzz and saw that Henry was calling me.

“Did you like the flowers Sydney?” I heard rather than see the smile etched on his face from the other end of the line.
