When Harry looks back at it, he wonders how he missed the signs. The super apparent ploys to get to him, only back then, he didn't know better. Harry didn't notice anything was off until his third year. That's when he started seeing the gaps in his memory, the fact he had to do certain things despite not wanting too, how Ron suddenly got enough money to buy loads of sweets, even less obvious things such as the food. For some reason, it just didn't taste right to Harry. Call him paranoid, but he could swear that something was off. But he ignored it, for the most part, it wasn't until the incident with Sirius that Harry knew something was up. How could Dumbledore put Sirius in prison without a trial? Why would he hire a werewolf no matter how "un-dangerous"? Harry tried to think back to other incidents but found that there was nothing but fog. Fed up, Harry ignored everyone for the rest of the year. He stopped listening to Dumbledore and refused to meet with him. Harry started watching how Ron and Hermione acted around him, and Harry didn't like what he saw. He saw how badly Ron treated everyone once he was out of sight. Harry slowly stopped eating and noticed that once he did, his memory started to return bit by bit. He spent more time in the library and went exploring the castle. By the time school ended, he knew the castle, as well as the twins, did. The train ride home was intriguing; Harry decided to sit with Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, and some random Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs. Midway through the journey, Harry needed to use the loo. On his way back, Harry ran into Draco. "Watch it, Potter!" Draco growled as he tried to shove his way past Harry. Harry wasn't having it and quickly blocked Malfoy's way. "Piss off Draco." Draco stopped attempting to get passed and looked at Harry, confused. "What?" Harry stepped back " What do you mean what?" Draco looked at Harry weirdly, "You called me Draco," Harry sighed, "So?" Harry stepped back before finally facing Draco," Fine, you wanna know why?" Draco nodded numbly, "I have always wanted to be your friend, okay. But you pissed me off the day you offered, so instead, I got stuck with Weasley." Draco stopped for a moment and thought, after a second, he started chuckling. "Okay Potter, So wanna be friends now?"
After that Harry sat with Draco and his gang. Sure he got hexed a fair few times but it was worth it because in the end he made peace with all of them.
