The Trees Hash It Out

Third POV
It's been two days since Dumbledore's announcement. Two days of creatures mourning and creatures fighting. Two days of new found knowledge and hard decisions. Hadrian sat in the R.O.R, his face hidden behind the stacks of books all around him. Papers littered the floor from rejected ideas and frustrated pacing. The fireplace flared to life in a flash of green fire before revealing Tom. Tom was followed by Sirius and Remus, all three carrying more books. But as Tom was opening his mouth he noticed that Hadrian was asleep. This was a shock because after that first night (the night Hadrian almost ended it and Tom almost lost his son) Hadrian was refusing to sleep. Instead he buried himself in research and strategy. Draco was just as bad saying that as long as Hadrian was awake he too would be.
Severus said that they were just being stubborn and to just give them time but so far neither had relented. Tom shook his head and carefully sat his pile of books down before motioning to Sirius and Remus to do the same. He quickly summoned a blanket before gently wrapping and lifting Hadrian in his arms.
Quietly carrying him down to the dungeons with Sirius and Remus following he made quick haste in order to make sure no one saw him. When the common room door opened a hush fell over the room. Sirius and Remus were surprised to see how many non-Slytherins were in the room, and how many had forgone their usual glamours, choosing to let their creature side to show.
Severus was in the corner confronting Draco. Draco looked awful, his hair was falling everywhere, his skin was paler than usual, he had dark circles under his eyes and bags big enough to carry books, and he seemed to be on the verge of falling over any second.
As soon as he saw Hadrian in Tom's arms he preceded to rush to Tom. Taking Hadrian into his arms without a second glance , he made his way towards the rooms ,only stopping to nod at Severus before heading to their room.
Third POV (In the Common Room)
Tom made his way to his husband," What did you say?" He asked in a small murmur.
Severus chuckled quietly before facing his mate, " I told him that he was being an idiotic brat that needed to get his head out of his arse and take control of Hadrian before they both did something to get them hurt. He told me that he didn't want to use his dominance over Hadrian because he didn't want Hadrian to distrust him or become an obedient slave of a mate." He said before rolling his eyes, " I then tore into him for being an imbecile and explained to him that it was his job to be dominant. That Hadrian wouldn't just become a sub for anyone and he wouldn't take orders mindlessly.
Tom smiles at Severus before scanning the room.
" I found him in the room of requirements passed out in a chair. He looked so small for a second that I forgot what he's been through."
Severus nodded before rushing to stop a small argument between an elk tree nymph and an oak tree nymph. Coming back to Tom he sighed," It's so easy to overlook everything he's been through. And yet it's all I can think about, all that he's missed and all that he will never get. He will never get to be a child, instead he is a warrior and it bothers me."
Tom wrapped his arm around his mates waist and kisses his temple before sighing.
Meanwhile
Third POV (Draco's Room)
Draco carries Hadrian down the hall way  wandlessly opening their door. He made his way towards their bed before softly laying Hadrian down into the bed. He waved his wand over Hadrian and himself changing their clothes before pulling the covers over themselves. He pulled Hadrian close to him carefully spooning him with one arm under Hadrians head and the other around Hadrians waist. He let Hadrians breathing lull him to sleep, content with his mate in his arms,  for the first time in three days.
A/N- Hello my lovelies! I am so sorry for not updating in like forever! I have no excuses but I honestly have been crazily busy. It's prom season, graduation is coming up , choral competitions, and the spring musical. We're doing Into The Woods and I am the witch. I cannot wait to finish the story and get started on the next!
