I think about what Denn revealed about me all the way back to the dorm. She's right. I'm miserable. I'm scared. I'm lonely. I let it all sink in for a bit. I'm lonely. The thought surprises me. It doesn't make sense. I get a new girl every Jakee I go out. I'm a chick magnet. How could I be lonely? I sit on my bed and take out my phone as Denn walks by. "Hey, I'm going to take a shower," she says. I nod as I start to scroll through all of the numbers I have. I stop at the S's and look at her name, the name of the only girl I've truly cared about. I miss her.

Hell, I miss us. But it's over. She wanted it to be over. I close my eyes and finally assembly up the courage to scroll past her name. I stop on a girl named Mikka.

She's one of the more recent one night stands I've had. Sure, there was no emotional connection but, then again, their never really is. Maybe there could be. Maybe I can finally move on.

I promptly call her. She answers relatively quickly. "Hey Mikka!" I say. "It's me, Alyssa. I just realized that I'm free this afternoon and thought that I might as well call you to see if you wanted to-"

"Meet me at my house, 82 Loyola Drive." She says before quickly hanging up. I smile to myself and start rummaging through my wardrobe to find something nice to wear for our date.

I find a nice dress and swiftly change into it. Then, I find the nearest mirror and start to apply my makeup while sitting in front of it.

Soon, the bathroom door swings open and out pops Denn with nothing but a towel around her. I gawk. No, Alyssa. You can NOT be interested in her. Look away. She looks me up and down before smiling to herself. "Going on a date?" She asks with a grin on her face.

"No." I lie. "Some girl called me and asked if I wanted to hook up. I don't do 'dates.'"
Denn nods. "Alright. Are you going to be drinking? Will I need to give you a ride back?"

"No, mom." I joke. "I'll be fine." I finish putting my mascara on and decide to put a light pink lipstick on to finish the look before heading out. "Unfortunately, I'll see you later," I say.
Denn rolls her eyes. "You haven't changed at all."

You have no idea

I drive to Mikka's house excitedly. Everything is going to be perfect. I'm ready to let go of the past. I pull into her driveway and get out of my car without even the slightest hesitation. I charge to her door.

However, as soon as it comes to knocking, my confidence starts to break. Come on Alyssa you can do this.

I inhale deeply before lifting up my shaky hand and knocking on the door. No turning back now.

I hear digging in the house before a naked Mikka opens it up. "I'm ready." She says.
I take a step back, shocked. "Mikka, you're-"
"Oh, don't act surprised. You've seen it before."
"I just wasn't-"
"Wasn't what? Expecting this? Come on! What did you think we were going to do? Go on a date?" I look down causing Mikka to laugh. "Oh, come on!" She yells. "Honey, I have zero emotional connections to you but physically..." she trails off and grabs my hand while dragging me towards her room.
I yank my hand away. "I have to go," I state.
Mikka glares at me. "Are you serious?! You can't just call me, act like we're going to have some fun, and then just leave!"
I feel my eyes start to water. "I just...I have to go." I run out of Mikka's house and get into my car.
