The stars gently twinkled in the beautiful midnight sky. The moon shimmering in the darkness, its light reaching every corner of the land. A calm and peaceful environment was set upon Wyanet. Gentle sounds of nature were the only things that could be heard from a mile.

Something disturbs me from the beautiful scene in front of my vary eyes, and its once again was Jett. He munching away happily on some cookies. "Dwis-crunch crunch-nwight is sho-crunch crunch-pwetty-crunch-am I-crunch-wi-" I slap my paw over his mouth, before I get showered with spit full of cookie crumbs. Jett pouts at me and I chuckle before letting him go.

"Hurry and finish your cookies, so we can keep on going." Jett nods his head before shoving four cookies in his mouth and leaping up ready to go. We run of into the forest, with the moon watching us with a wise smile on its face.

"Hey Mel?" Jett suddenly stops and asks in a low whisper.

"Yeah Jett?" I ask, finding myself also whispering.

"Did you hear that?" he softly questions.

I lift my head up high and close my eyes, listening to the forest. I hear frogs croaking softly as they sleep, a river gently running to other creeks and ponds, and the wind whistling away as it soars through the sky. Then, I hear it. My ears twitch at the sound. My eyes open up in a flash.

"Jett." My voice booms through the air, loud and clear. Jett suddenly stands tall. We look at each other in the eye, with serious expressions. We nod our heads, and leap into the night, to the sound that we heard.

My heart is pounding as we dodge tree branches and leap over logs. The sound was a horrible scream that sounded muffled, and only one with sensitive hearing could hear it. As my mind is spinning in a huge circle, thinking up possible explanations, my eyes go wide and I yelp.

What were we doing, charging up to someone that screamed?! We could get into serious trouble if we charge into a dangerous area!

I veer myself towards Jett and tackle him down to a log and stick my paw on his mouth to silence is surprised yell. When I notice that he won't yell anymore, I gently remove my paw.

"Hey!" Jett pouts with an adorable mad look on his face. "What was that for?" he suddenly gives me sad eyes and curls his tail. I break into a small smile and soothe his head with my paw while curling my tail with his. He leans against with a smug look on his face while muttering "That's right! You better feel sorry for me!"

I than break free from a confused Jett, and explain to him my reason to attack him like that.

"I really don't think running into danger at full speed is a good idea. There could be some psycho animal trying to plot some evil things! We need to act stealthy while investigating." I explain.

Jett strokes his chin acting like he has a beard, until I swat his paw for him to actually be serious. Jett giggles before putting a tough face on, making him look even cuter and I want to squish his adorable face under my paws.

"You are right! We need to be stealthy and ninja-like!" Jett demands. He gets up and slowly starts creeping to a tree and rolls into a ball to hid behind it, but ends up falling behind the tree.

"I'm okay!" he yells. Suddenly a huge branch falls onto him. I gasp and scurry over to him.

"JETT?!" I cry as I crouch down next to the branch.

"I'm still okay..."  he softly mutters with a hint of embarrassment in his voice. I chuckle before lifting the branch off of him. He gives me a big grin before leaping onto his paws and commanding "Onward, soldier!" I laugh and salute him.

We slowly creep into the night.
