Anne arrived at Ruby's house before the party to help her get ready.
"Anne!" Ruby squealed "you're finally here! HELP!"
"nice to see you too, Ruby." said Anne with a laugh.
"sorry it's just... Jerry is gonna be at the party and I don't know what to wear and-"
"Ruby!" Anne said with her hand on Ruby's shoulder "you're gonna look good in anything you wear! he'll have heart eyes for you."
"thanks Anne" said Ruby while leaning in for a hug.
"Anne?" asked Ruby
"yeah?"
"are y-you wearing... that to the party?"
"yeah... why?"
"oh heck no! you want Gilbert to see you in that?"
"what do I care what Gilbert thinks?"
"oh don't deny it, Anne, you LOVE him"
"what! Ruby you know me and Gilbert are 'sworn enemies'!"
"oh come on!"
"well, I guess he is smart... and kind, and cu-" Anne said but stopped herself before she said anything else
"Anne what are you thinking"Anne thought "he's your enemy remenber!"
"I-I mean- HE'S MY SWORN ENEMY as I said!" Anne continued
"suuureeee..." Ruby said with a giggle
"well... could you lend me some clothes anyway... I d-don't really like what I'm wearing anyways" Anne said lying. she didn't know it but she wanted to change for Gilbert!
"nothing to do with Gilbert?"
"NOTHING"
"ok ok!"
Ruby took her upstairs and pulled a pale blue dress that set right above her knee
" oh Ruby thank you so much!" Anne said
"no problem you look AMAZING!"
" thanks... what are you wearing?"
"same dress just pastel pink"
Ruby went to put it on. she came back looking amazing!
"Ruby! Jerry's gonna be all over you tonight"
"you really think so?"
"I know so"
they both finished getting ready. Anne curled her hair and did half up half down. while Ruby, for the first time, wore her hair up in a bun. the dresses were casual so it didn't look so formal.
"alright let's go to Diana's house" said Anne
"ok" replied Ruby
they went to Diana's house and rang the doorbell and Jerry answered
"oh hey An-Ruby! you l-look beaut- I-I mean uuhhh... good! you look g-good"
"t-thanks" replied Ruby with a blush "you look g-good too! hehe"
they stared into eachother eyes. then Anne cleared her throat. they broke gaze
"oh uh. come in Ruby... and Anne!" said Jerry while Anne rolled her eyes.
they went upstairs Jerry took Ruby outside so it was Jane, Anne, Diana, and Tillie.
"they better start to date!" said Anne
"I know right?!" said Jane laughing
"let's go spy on them!" suggested Diana
"Yes!" agreed Anne and Jane
they down stairs but didn't see anyone so they peeked out the window and saw something they never thought they would see... they were kissing. everyone was shocked they giggled and they went away before they saw them.
"WHAT JUST HAPPENED!" said Jane laughing along with everyone else
"RUBY AND JERRY! RUBY AND JERRY!" yelled Anne
" this ship is SAILING!!!!" shouted Diana
about 30 minutes later they finally went outside but they were just sitting on the step
"Ahem!" said Jane
" uh! H-hi" said Jerry
"we should go now" said Anne
"y-yeah"
"did anything happen here!" said Diana with a little giggle
" NO! I mean uuuh.. n-no!" Ruby said rubbing the back of her head which showed she was nervous
"well let's get in the car" said Jane
"right" said Ruby
Jerry was driving so he sat in the driver's seat of course. Ruby saw him so she quickly went to the passenger's seat so they could sit close
they all giggled
