Chapter 22

Anna's POV
Day 35-Continuation
I walked over to Lilly and pulled her into a hug and kissed her head. "I'm sorry..." She starts to say but I cut her off.

"It's ok baby. I over reacted. I shouldn't have reacted like that. I just get so protective over you. I love you." I said and she smiled and kissed me. "I love you too, Anna." She said as my parents fake coughed behind us.

We walked over to them and we all started laughing. "I sorry guys. I was being irrational and I should've just calmed down and thought about what was going on." I said and they all smiled.

"It's ok sweetheart." Dad said and we all sat down and began talking about random things.

We must've talked for a long time because as we all were laughing when a doctor came in.

"Parents/Guardians of Santana Corteź?" The Doctor said and Santana's parents and I rushed over to her. "Yes were her parents." Her Mom said and the doctor smiled.

"Ok Mama Santana is fine. She just hit her head and has minor brain swelling but we have it under control." The doctors said and we let out a breath of relief.

"Ok when can we see her?" Her Dad asked. "You can go see her now. She should be waking up any minute now." The doctor said and lead us to Santana's room.

The doctor excused herself and we walked over to Santana. She woke up as soon as I grabbed her hand. "Hey baby. It's Mom, do you remember what happened?" Her Mom asked and she nodded.

"Ya, Anna and I were surfing and we went under a wave and I hit my head of the side of my board because of the current and then I started drowning and then I passed out." Santana said looking at me.

I fault an immediate pang of guilt and my face must've shown it because Santana's eyes changed from the happy look and to sad.

"Hey, it's not you fault babe. I should've known that the impact was coming. It had nothing to do with you. It's ok, I'm gonna be fine." Santana said squeezing my hand and pulling me close so she could kiss my forehead.

I smiled sadly at her and nodded. We started having random conversations about nothing and everything.

"Even though we've only hung out a few times I can tell that we're going to be close." I said and Santana nodded.

"Me too, Anna. Me too." Santana replied and I kissed her cheek. After a while I somehow ended up in Santana's bed cuddled up next to her. I looked her around confused.

"How did this happen? I literally was just sitting next your Mom holding her hand. How did I get up here?" I asked asked and Santana's parents and her shrugged.

"It just kind happened. I don't know exactly you ended up here but your welcome to stay. You don't have to get up." Santana said and I nodded and cuddled farther back into her side and smiled up at her.

I checked my phone for the first time since this morning when I woke up. I scrolled through the text and missed phone calls from my parents and Lilly and I completely forgot that they were here.

I sent Mom a text apologizing and told her that I wanted to say up here with Santana and then she called me.

"Ok. I love you, I'll see you later." she said. "Ok. Love you too Momma." I said and I ended the call and shut off my phone.
