Anna's POV
Day 37
When I woke up a nurse came in and she looked confused out of her mind. "Who are you and where is Santana?" She asked and I laughed to myself as Santana and Josh woke up looking just as confused.

"What's going on?" Josh asked the nurse looking between the nurse and me. "Why is she in your bed and your on the couch with him?" The nurse asked.

"Oh we all fell asleep on the couch watching some movies and then in middle of the night I had to go pee and when I got back there was no room on the couch so I sleep on the bed ." I said and the nurse nodded.

"Ok well I just came in here to check on Santana and tell her that she is going to be released in 30 minutes." The nurse said and we all cheered. The nurse walked over to Santana and checked her out to make sure she was ok then she left without another word.

"What time is it?" Josh asked looking worried? I knew it was time for him to leave but I didn't say anything. "Um it's 9:30am. Why?" San asked.

"I have to get back to the dorm. I have a test today at 1 and it's a 3 hour drive. So I have to start going now or else I'll be late. I'm sorry San but I have to go." Josh said looking guilty.

"It's ok Josh. I get it you have a life. I love you. I'll see you whenever." San said as she hugged him and he kissed her forehead. "Is it ok if I walk you out?" I asked Josh and he nodded.

"I'll be right back San." She nodded and Josh and I left her room. We walked all the way downstairs and stopped at the entrance.

"Thank you Anna. I don't think I'd be able to do this if she didn't have you to be there for her. Remember my Camaro at 110 on Red Rock Road." He said as I pulled him into a hug and he broke down.

"It's going to be ok Josh. She'll be fine, I'll make sure of it." I asked to him and pulled back. He smiled at me and gave me the letter for Santana with her name written across the top.

"Thank you again Anna." He said and I smiled at him. He turned to walk away but I grabbed his arm. "Can I get your number so that way we can talk?" I asked and he smiled.

"I'm one step ahead of you Anna. Last night when I was writing the letter I put my number in your phone along with the specific information that'll help you if I don't make it back." He said and we hugged one last time before he walked to his jeep and left.

I smiled sadly after him and started walking back up to San's room. Before I walked in I wiped my face not realizing I was crying before. I took one last look at myself and walked back into her room.

"Hey San you ready to go?" I asked her and she smiled at me. "I seen you and Josh. What were y'all talking about?" She asked. "He wanted me to take care and protect you. He wanted me to promise that I'll always be there for you no matter what." I said and she smiled.

"That's just like him. Always trying to protect me. What did you say?" She asked with a gleam of sadness in her eyes. "I told him that I'd do my best." I replied and she ran into my arm and started crying.

I just held her knowing that that's all I could do for her. I wanted to tell her so bad but I couldn't. I just held her for almost an hour before the nurse came in and told us we could leave. I let go of her and smiled and walked out the room with my arm around her.

We got downstairs and her parents were there waiting. We parted ways to go to our cars. I got in mine and started bawling my eyes out. I wanted to tell her but I made a promise.

I must've sat in my car for hours because by them time that I pulled out the hospital parking lot it was almost 3pm. I stopped at the Starbucks down the street and got some coffee for the drive home.
