"I hope you're smiling at what I think you're smiling at because if you aren't I'm going to flip." Nia said walking into the kitchen where Leona was leaning against the fridge.

"It's Chandler, he wants to meet up today." Leona responded smiling.

"Damn girl he's hooked, you've been out six times! When is he going to ask you to be his girlfriend?!" Nia said finishing with an exasperated sigh.

"I don't know. Maybe tonight?"

"Hopefully! So where are you guys going?"

"To the movies!" Leona said excitedly.

"What's so exciting about the movies?" Nia asked rolling her eyes.

Leona shrugged. "It's just the classic date, everyone else went to the movies with their dates in high school. I just wondered how it felt."

Nia laughed. "Yeah but high school was three years ago, I'll forgive Chandler for his lack of originality since his last six dates were amazing."

*********

Leona hugged herself as Chandler fetched the blanket, pillow and snacks from the car. When he asked her to go to the movies she hasn't known that it would be an outdoor theatre.

She was seated on top of the hood of the car along with about twenty other couples, others had settled on the grass.

She had worn a white polo neck jersey, dark blue jeans and ankle high black boots.

"Here we go." Chandler said placing the pillows behind her then climbing on the hood himself with the snacks. He had brought store bought vanilla milkshakes, cookies, chocolate and popcorn.

Leona smiled at his choice of snacks and cuddled into him pulling the blanket up to her chest. He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer and she sighed contently as the movie started.

"So? What did you think?" Chandler asked helping Leona off the hood of the car.

"It was hilarious." She answered smiling.

"So you loved it?" He asked.

"Yeah I did."

"What was your favourite part?"

Leona laughed and shook her head. "Geez Mr interrogate. Of the movie or the date?"

"The movie." Chandler answered. "I'm hoping that the date isn't over just yet."

"Yeah uhm." She blushed forgetting his initial question for a second. "When he blew up under water."

Chandler laughed. "Of course your favourite part had to be someone exploding. That should be a warning right there."

Leona laughed and they took the things to the car. They finished packing everything and she was about to get in when Chandler stopped her.

"Can we go for a walk? Check out what more this place has to offer?"

She nodded and he took her hand. Starting to walk around the giant park which was actually part of a golf course. Their corner was at a far end and the golf reserve was so far that it looked smaller than a dollhouse.

"I never asked you how old you were." Leona said after a while of walking in comfortable silence.

Chandler laughed. "Wow, what a lack of interest."

Leona smiled an punched him playfully. "I just didn't think of it until now."

"Well." He said. "I'm twenty four, and you're twenty. I work for my father's construction company. I hated school and had better things to do most of the time. I have an older brother and a younger sister and I'm studying my last year of law."

"I only asked how old you are!" Leona said laughing.

"I know." He answered. "I just wanted us to get past the "what do you do for a living and etc phase. We should've actually sorted all that out by the third date."

"Oh right. I guess we were too busy talking about the present to dwell on the past." Leona smiled. "I'm twenty as you said. Wait, how did you know that?"

"Nia"

Leona rolled her eyes. "Anyways. I work at the diner obviously, I'm doing business management online. I'm an only child, mother died when I was eight, my dad sent me to military school when I was nine and I did my last two years of school in a normal high school. I hated it. I hate school, hence why I'm studying online."

"Wow." Chandler said unable to think of an appropriate answer.

"I'm sorry about your mother." He finally said after walking on for a while.

"Yeah me too."

"And how's your relationship with your father?" He asked softly.

"We're not close. We talk but I really didn't bother to build a relationship between us. He was a sergeant in the military and had always been strict so it was easy for us to fall into a command and comply relationship"

"That's..... hectic."

Leona laughed at his lack of response. "It's not as bad as it sounds. And on the plus side, I can kick your ass."

"I'll remember that if I ever think of doing something stupid or over stepping boundaries."

"You better."

"Speaking of over stepping boundaries." Chandler said hesitatingly and Leona raised an eyebrow in questioning. "There are some boundaries that I would like to eliminate."

"Some boundaries that you would like to eliminate?" Leona repeated.

"Yeah, I mean. I would really like to stop walking on eggshells around you."

"Then stop. Do I make you uncomfortable?" She asked knowing exactly where he was going with the conversation and planning on making it harder.

"No, of course you don't." He quickly defended. "I'm the one that doesn't want to make you feel uncomfortable. What I'm saying is"

"Yes Chandler, what are you saying." Leona asked smiling at his discomfort. She had never known that it would make a guy so nervous to ask her out.

"Well. Would you be mine? I mean, would you like to be my girlfriend?" He asked.

Leona smiled.

Finally!
