"Hey mom!" Logan said as she walked into the room. She carelessly flopped her bag on the floor and fell onto the arm chair.
"I know I'm a bit late but," she let out a dramatic sigh. "I was called into the principal's office. I almost broke Freddie's nose but it was completely unintentional!"
"He sneaked up behind me and you know how I get when I'm frightened. I mean he's one of my only friend's, he should know that about me by now right?" She asked looking over at her mother and when she was met with silence she sighed but sat up in her chair.
"Anyways" she said with new fake enthusiasm. "Georgie's Nephew is in town, he's living with us and he's a pretty cool guy, not to mention he's super cute!" She looked to her mom for a reaction but again was met with none.
"You don't have to worry though, he's too old for me. I thought that he would be perfect for you but he's a recently retired navy seal and I know how you feel about them."
She sighed once more at the silence and sunk deeper in her arm chair looking away from the laying figure of her mother on the bed besides her. She reached for the TV remote on the table besides the bed and switched on the TV, losing herself in the series.
She was taken out of her TV trance about an hour later by a presence at the door. The nurse smiled at her and she nodded acknowledging the silent message.
She stood up and walked towards her mom's bed. "It's time for me to go now, Georgie's here. I'll be back tomorrow with something new to tell, tomorrow and everyday until you wake up. I know you can hear me, so I won't stop."
"I believe that she hears you too." Georgie said appearing at the door.
Logan nodded, giving her mom a kiss on the forehead and walking out the door to Georgie who took her in a half hug as they walked out of the hospital.
