Strength of Affinity: Though Randy is competent with most forms of earth manipulation, his favorite technique involves making stony boxing gloves out of pieces of earth, with an effect similar to brass knuckles.

Appearance: Randy stands at approximately six feet one inch, with dark brown hair and eyes an odd shade of purple. His rather handsome face is only marred by a rather overlarge nose. Randy's body is quite muscular (as will happen when you spend the day hurling rocks around with your memaw.) He has said in the past his best feature is his feet, "because they take me all sorts of neat places."

Personality: Raised in what was once South Carolina by the Barrett clan, Randy is the oldest of five siblings. It shows. Well accustomed to managing his extensive, well-endowed (with elemental affinities, get your mind out of the gutter) family, Randy has grown kind, with an implacable core to back up decisions. He sees himself as the protector of all, and will immediately use his powerful Earth abilities to defend those he sees as in need. Sadly, as he was raised among awkward anarcho-hillbillies who still fly the confederate flag even after the dissolution of the actual USA, he sometimes has a little trouble distinguishing between such things as scientists and devil-worshippers.

History: Randy was born on August 15, 26 years ago. His family, the Barrett's, had lived out in the woods for generations, disdaining contact with the outside world. When the affinities appeared and the world collapsed into chaos, the Barrett clan simply took it in stride, training the mediums and strongs as best they could. Everyone in the family learned the basics of fighting, but Earth strongs were especially prized because of their effectivity against Fighters. Randy grew up training with his memaw, a woman of prodigious strength and the only other Earth Strong in the family. At the age of 16, Memaw sent him out into the world so he could learn the current situation and come back to the family. 10 years later, Randy has still not returned because so many things still confuse him.

Leadership Qualities:

1)  Randy is excellent at spotting a mind affinity's handiwork, having been raised with a Mind Strong as a younger sister. This ought to be useful in eliminating corruption and preventing mental influence.

2) He also has an easygoing air about him that helps other people relax, thus giving him easier access to the people.

Token: a necklace with a single pendant. Dating back from the old days, the pendant is made from weathered blue glass and holds the family motto from 2008: OISM, representing "Obama is a secret Muslim."

Other: To date, twelve Fighter incursions have been made on the Barrett clan. All were quickly repulsed. No Fighter has ever been born to a Barrett.
