Fire Strong: Adena Bayzil
The first thing I did in the arena was slip.
Nice going, I thought as lay on the ice, trying to make sure I could still move my legs. I tried to push myself up, but my palms slipped on the ice and I slammed my chin into the ice.
I gasped; trying to make sure I still had most of my tongue. After I spat out a ton if blood, I finally managed to sit back up. I crouched on my knees, trying to sit up, but I kept slipping. After a few more bruises, I finally ended up crawling on all fours to the island in the center of the arena.
Once I was there I crawled onto the rock, it was as cold and as hard as the ice, but it wasn’t slippery, I carefully stood up and looked around.
The island wasn’t too big, but there were already kids fighting on it. I looked around for weapons, but I didn’t see any, I saw twigs and stones, hardly anything I would consider useful.
I heard footsteps behind me and turned, I shot a stream of fire at the kid behind me, but it only slowed them down. A fighter
“Damn it,” I said, lowering to the ground and trying to crawl back, I managed to wrap my hand around a long stick that was almost like a staff. I whipped it around and hit the kid’s feet, it knocked him over and he cracked his head on the rock, I heard the cannon go off.
I hopped up, keeping the staff spinning in my fingers, I had an idea. I channeled my fire through the staff so that the flames came out both ends, I spun it as fast as I could. I spotted a few other kids nearby. I it pointed at one of them and forced the fire out of the front end, it slammed into the kid, and luckily it was a strong, the kid lit like a torch.
It also drew the attention of the other kids too me. I started spinning the staff again, but I didn’t light it, I had already killed two kids, maybe these would realize that and let me leave. They didn’t.
I shot fire at one of them and it wrapped around them, a fighter. I would have to get closer.
I threw flames at a few others and one of the burst, a strong. I stopped the flames and moved in closer, I whipped flames at the kid’s feet and a few of them jumped, trying to avoid it. I moved in closer and slammed the staff in to a kid just as he was landing, he slipped and the cannon went off.
I took this a sign that I had done enough. I moved back along to rock until I found a back pack, I threw it on and slid onto the ice, using my heat to melt the ice a little and give me more traction, I started off nd tried to make it as far as I could before the sun set

Air Strong: Ilsa Rose
Ilsa didn’t like this. She couldn’t understand why a competition to find the best leader required her being shoved onto a frozen lake with bare feet.
Just taking a few steps on the ice made Ilsa’s feet itch and bleed. While she knew retrieving a weapon from the island was necessary, she also knew from her stumbling off the back of her starting block that she wouldn’t be able to make it to the island without seriously injuring her feet.
