Yeah, I don't have a cool little story for you in the beginning :P

TASK:

A test of how adaptable you are.

You wake up alone in a place that is so far out of your comfort zone it's the literal polar opposite. And even as you sit, uncomfortable and confused, you here a sound. Raising your eyes, you see your worst nightmare. A mutt.

FIRE STRONGS:

Their fire is a fundemental part of them. That being said, Fire Strongs are very averse to water. They tend to be poor swimmers and not like getting wet. They are almost cat-like in that regard.

THEIR ARENA:

The Fire Strongs are in a large lake standing on a clear platform that is just below the water, focring them to get their feet wet.

EARTH STRONGS:

Being very sturdy and close to nature, Earth Strongs are very averse to man-made things. They tend to dislike water, but not to the extent of Fire Strongs. Heights terrify them.

THEIR ARENA:

The lake. Actually, a revamped version of the lake, one without the island and instead of frozen water, it is filled with synthetic ice that has been made with a rough surface to provide traction.

WATER STRONGS:

Erm, well, we don't actually have any Water Strongs left, but if there were, their arena would be the desert.

AIR STRONGS:

Freedom-loving and flighty, Air Strongs greatly resemble their affinity. They hate enclosed spaces and especially being underground. They tend to be very claustrophobic.

THEIR ARENA:

A series of caves deep under ground and with narrow tunnels and little air flow.

MIND STRONGS:

Being around people is the whole point of having this affinity. The inherent need for company is what drives these Strongs. Their affinity depends on their ability to communicate.

THEIR ARENA:

The very outskirts of the arena, away from everyone in a wooded area. Not a single person in sight.

FIGHTERS:

Self-reliant and very adaptable, Fighters depend on nothing but their own strength and senses. All weapons are just an added bonus.

THEIR ARENA:

A large, steel box-like room. Not a  weapon or person in sight. No big deal. However, you're also missing one of your senses. PICK ONE SENSE TO LOSE: Sight, hearing, touch, or the ability to control of of your limbs.

Okay, so, basically, in this crappy situation for your tribute, they must also face a mutt of your choosing. BE CREATIVE!!!!!
