I sat in my room on my large bed as I hugged a pillow. I was watching old YouTube videos of Shawns, the ones I helped him film when we were younger. This one particular video, his cover of Say Something, I needed to see. It was the first kiss I've ever had and I was happy it was with him:

"Say something, I'm giving up on you
I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you
Anywhere I would've followed you
Say something, I'm giving up on you," Shawn sang beautifully into his mic. He was sat there in front of me on his desk chair in his blue plaid jacket with his black jeans on, and his silver guitar necklace I bought for his birthday hung around his neck, displaying it proudly. Just strumming his guitars, his short brunette hair was brushed to the right side of his head. He never broke eye contact with me, which reminded me of something...

I stood up from his bed and walked over to the camera stopping the recording. Shawn took that as his cue to stop.

"What? What'd I do?" He asked furrowing his brows out of confusion.
"You're staring at me again!" I giggled, as I reset the filming.
"I'm sorry, you're just so beautiful..." He sighed, resting his arms on the top of his guitar and then rested his head on his arms. His words making my cheeks burn.

"Maybe I should just sit behind the camera if you're gonna keep staring." I giggled.
"That could work." Shawn smiled his wide beautiful smile at me. I felt like butterflies were fluttering around in my stomach as he did. I just gave him a small and shy smile back before looking back to fiddle with the camera a bit more.

"Hey, Leila. Thanks again for doing this for me. I don't know what I'd do without you." He chuckled.
"Probably be famous and singing in front of millions of people." I shrugged.
"No way! I think you helping me will actually make that happen for me." He chuckled.
"Well, when you do become famous don't forget us, little people," I said with a playful smile on my face.
"Of course! When that happens, I'm going to have you right there with me every step of the way!" He exclaimed placing his guitar gently on the floor. I just rolled my eyes and shook my head at his wild imagination.

"Hey," Shawn said, I looked up to him as he stood from the chair and approached me. He then placed his hands on my hips and smiled down at me, "I mean it. If something big happens to me, I want you there with me. Always." He said in a hushed tone. I just watched his eyes dart from my own to my lips. I felt the tension building and slowly leaned in. I felt Shawn's lips on my own as I closed my eyes feeling the moment, enjoying our first kiss.

It's been a few minutes since the video ended and I was just staring at the end screen of the video. I was lost in my thoughts of when Shawn and I were just kids. It wasn't until I heard the doorbell ring that I was snapped out of it. I gasped and jumped out of surprise. I quickly shut my laptop and bounced off the bed in excitement.

I rushed out of my room and stood on the balcony of the second floor getting a perfect view of my mother walking out of the kitchen to the front door. I had a big stupid smile on my face as I watched her open the door revealing Karen first but a large figure standing right behind her. I walked up to the railing and gripped it hard waiting for him. Karen smiled at my mom before hugging her, my mother invited her in and stepped to the side letting Karen in first. She then had to look up at the person behind Karen. I heard my mom greet him sounding surprised by 'how much he's grown.' It was then that he started walking in. I felt my heart race as soon as I saw him.

Shawn...

Time seemed to have moved in slow motion as I watched him walk into the house. He has a small smile on his face as he looked at my mom. Walking up to her, practically towering over her as he gave her a warm hug too. While hugging my mom Shawn's gaze moved up to me, I couldn't help but smile. I kept my eyes on him as I started walking to the staircase, but as I watched his gaze on me turned cold. I furrowed my brows as I stopped halfway through the stairs looking at him concerned. Was he mad at me? No way! Maybe it was just the angle I was standing at. I continue walking down the steps a huge smile on my face as I watch everyone exchanging greetings.
