The next day Jess, Alice and I were sitting on the patio seating for a local cafe we've been to every now and then. Jess got herself a plain black coffee, I got myself a coffee with mostly creamer and Alice got herself a hot chocolate either because she's just like a big child or doesn't like coffee, she's never really explained it to us.

As we sat there I explained the whole situation that happened yesterday with Shawn, becoming his assistant and how I just didn't want to be a part of it because of his attitude.

"A whole year..." Alice said in disbelief looking down at her steaming mug.
"That's rough, Le." Jess sighed as she crossed her arms, sitting back in her seat.
"I know... You know I would have been on board with this if Shawn wasn't a complete asshole to me the second he walked in." I explained with a shrug.
"I'm sure he's just having a bad day," Alice said looking sympathetic.
"Or maybe he is just an asshole, he's not the same Shawn you knew in school, the same way you're not the same." Jess chimed in.
"Yeah but you would think... we loved each other, he was my first kiss guys!"
"And yet you never wanted to date him," Jess said raising a brow at me.
"Well I was moving, I didn't want us to have a struggling relationship because of our distance."
"You guys lived right next to each other!" Jess exclaimed.
"And tell my mom that I was going over to my boyfriend's house every day as a 14-year-old." I sarcastically said.
"You didn't have to tell her," Alice suggested.
"Even if we did, if Shawn told his mom it'd just come right back to my mom."
"Ok, we get it, Shawn and you would have never worked out, he's an asshole, you're gonna be stuck with him for over a year, what are you going to do about Daniel?" Jess intervenes. I just sigh.

"I really don't know how to tell him, do you think he'll be upset?"
"Yes." "No." Jess and Alice say at the same time.
"Alice, why no?" I ask.
"Well you guys have been together long enough to have a stable foundation of trust and he's a grown man, he should be mature about it." She explained.
"Jess?" I ask looking at her in her little screen.
"Yes, he's gonna be upset because you'll be gone for a year with your first crush whose younger, hotter, and more talented." She said with a shrug.

"Shawn's not that hot..." I said.
"Have you ever Googled shirtless pictures of him?! Dudes ripped... I'd like him to rip me if you know what I mean." Jess winked. Alice just giggled and I looked at her disgusted.
"I barely listen to his music anymore, I can't shake the fact that he's a celebrity now guys. Jess, don't you remember when we would all hang out together?" I asked her reminiscing.
"You mean when you and Shawn hung out and I was the third wheel." She rolled her eyes.
"Oh, stop, you were always like that, we invited you into activities with us, you were just always so salty."
"Because it was 2 people activities and you wanted me to take turns with you guys as opposed to just doing 3 people activities."
"You're so dramatic." I rolled my eyes.
"Um, Leila I know this probably isn't the best time to ask but," Alice started speaking, I watched as she looked down for a moment before looking back up at us, "can you get me Shawn's autograph?" She asks and I thought my eyes would pop out of my head.

"Alice?!"
"What? I'm sorry I really like him and his music... he's cute..." She shyly said looking down again. I sighed.
"I'll try," I said.
"Thanks, I'm just scared of asking if you ever bring him around because... I-I'm scared he'll be mean to me." She said nervously. I just rolled my eyes again.
"He seems to play nice when others are involved so I really don't think he'd be so rude to you guys," I explained.
"What do you mean?" Jess furrowed her brows in confusion.
"Well like I said, yesterday when we were in front of our moms he was all, 'Oh Leila we're friends! It'd be great spending time with you!' but when it was just me and him he said right to my face that he hates me. He's like putting on this weird act to drive me insane."
