Origin

The Kodama-Nezumi is a creature with origins in Japanese mythology, legend and folklore. In the folklore of the Matagi hunters of Akita Prefecture, the Kodama-Nezumi is a warning from the kami of the mountains. When one is sighted, it is a sign of imminent disaster.

Appearance

The Kodama-Nezumi is similar in appearance to a Japanese Dormouse, but it is spherical.

Behavior

The Kodama-Nezumi is rather harmless, but reacts violently to human presence. When it spots a human, it stops what it's doing, inflates like a balloon, and splatters the hunter with its blood and guts.

Abilities

The Kodama-Nezumi is able to explode as a defense mechanism, much like the Malaysian Ant.
