The Qalupalik is one of the most powerful mythical creatures with evil powers and an origin of the Inuit religion of Canada. This terrible creature is a mermaid and it possesses the human-like qualities. It is distinguished from its green skin and long hair and fingernails. The Qalupalik kidnaps the young children playing near the shore. It uses its humming voice to lure them and gets them to the edge of the water. There is also a belief that she feeds on the young, to preserve her energy and beauty.
