~IMPORTANT~
This chapter includes triggers for sexual assault. If this is a sensitive subject for you, or it makes you uncomfortable, I will write when the sensitive parts begin/where to skip to. When I write ~SKIP~, scroll down and find the label with ~SAFE ZONE~. That's where the story continues.
Thank you, and enjoy the rest of the chapter! <3Almost a week had passed since you returned to your house. In that time, Connor and Hank went to the station when they needed to, leaving you alone. The hours seemed long, but weren't spent alone. You had Sumo with you. Both of you occasionally watched the various television networks when you felt like it.
But this time, you were being brought along. Hank and Connor had gone off to work at noon, but came back a few hours later.
"We need you for a meeting or something." Was the only response given to your questions. So, you were back at the police department once again. It appeared to be the end of most people's shifts, as almost everyone was gone. Only a few janitors and the Androids on duty remained. You were now seated at Captain Fowler's office alongside Hank. Connor was outside in the car, as this meeting didn't apply to him at all.
"I've decided that we will cover all hospital costs and any other costs that might build up as you recover your memory." The Captain spoke. You had to glance over at Hank to make sure this wasn't a joke. He seemed just as surprised as well.
"You're serious?"
"Yes. Your safety matters to us." He gave a kind smile. You returned it as you spoke.
"That's really kind of you...thank you!"
"It's my pleasure." He replied. "Anyways, I trust you two to be the last ones out of the building tonight." The Captain the continued to give instructions on how to properly lock up for the night. With that, the three of you parted ways. When Captain Fowler was out of sight, Hank spoke up.
"What the hell..." He mumbled. You looked up at him.
"What?"
"He never talks like that. So nice 'n crap." Hank complained.
"He isn't usually like that? He seems like a nice man." When you finished your sentence, Hank laughed.
"I'm going to the bathroom. Don't blow anything up while I'm gone." He joked, walking away down the hallway. You smiled as you leaned your back against the wall behind you, opposite from the break room. The smile quickly faltered from your face as you heard a familiar voice.
"What the hell are you doing here? It's nearly closing time." You turned your head to see Gavin Reed appear from the main room.
"Captain Fowler ordered Hank and I to lock up the building for the night." You explained, deciding to leave out that Hank had left you. Gavin suspiciously looked you up and down.
"Why are you even here anyways?" His words gave off a rude tone. Your eyes flickered to the entrance of the bathroom for a moment.
"Connor and Hank are helping me recover my memory. I'm part of their case that includes investigating deviants." As you spoke, Gavin half-heartedly nodded as if he was actually paying attention. His brown eyes surveyed around the area.
"I see you hangin' out with that plastic prick." Gavin moved closer. "Why him? It's just a machine." You do have to admit you seem to have a soft spot for Connor. The way he's learning to smile, the way he takes jokes too seriously, how he tries so hard to act like a normal human. It's all adorable.
"Why are you even worried about that? We're just friends." You inched closer to the wall behind you. He rolled his eyes and moved a strong step closer. An extremely uncomfortable silence filled the surrounding area.
"Sure." Gavin's eyes narrowed as a gross smile crept on his face. "You got hit in the head right? Knocked out?" His voice grew quiet, yet threatening in a way.
"I...I-I don't know...?" Your memory of the incident was still foggy. The feeling of fear at the scene of the incident was overridden by the memory of Connor comforting you in your kitchen. The car ride home was very quiet- you were still debating your feelings towards him.~SKIP~
Gavin looked you up and down one more time.
"So," An uncomfortable feeling settled in your stomach. Suddenly, Gavin reached a hand out for you chest and held it there. When you tried to push him off, he held his free hand to your chin and mouth, pressing you against the wall.
"all I have to do is knock you out again. Then you won't remember anything. Right?" You suddenly realized how much you wished you let Connor come with you to the meeting. He kept implying that he should come along. You attempted to speak to him but he only laughed. You felt his disgusting hand on your upper chest. A single tear rolled down your cheek.
"Let's go now." Gavin's sinister smile quickly faltered when you both heard a gun being cocked to your left. You fought against his hand to see Hank with his handgun pointed directly at Gavin.
"Get the hell off her." His voice was stern. Gavin let out loud sigh.
"Stay out of this, old man." You were too scared to move. There was no telling what he would do if you moved.
"Just leave, and no one will get hurt." Hank insisted. Gavin half scoffed and laughed.
"You're gonna shoot me if I don't obey her wish?" Both you and Hank looked at him with a doubtful look. "She asked me to do this. Somethin' isn't right in her head." Gavin lied.
"Looks like the only thing that can protect you now is that wimpy gun of yours." He continued to move you away from Hank.
"I said get the fuck off her, or you know I'll shoot a hole in your foot!" He yelled. You could almost hear your heart pounding out of your chest as the three of you remained silent.~SAFE ZONE~
Gavin rolled his eyes once more before letting go of you. You nearly fell to the floor from your shaking legs.
"Why can't you just mind your own business?" Tears ran down your cheeks as he smugly walked away. Hank's determined face shifted to a worried look. His gun was tucked away as he ran up beside you.
"You okay? He didn't do anything else, did he? Are you alright Y/N?" His large hands held your shoulders comfortingly. You couldn't say anything more, you only cradled yourself into his chest.
"I'm sorry I didn't find you sooner." He mumbled an apology. His exhausted yet distressed icy blue eyes broke your heart. You sniffled some tears away.
"I-I, I want..." Your voice was weak. Hank looked down at you, waiting for your words.
"Connor. I want, Connor." He began to help you up to your feet.
"Okay, lets go kid." The two of you walked out of the building, as Hank followed the instructions given by the Captain. A few minutes later you were out in the parking lot. The stars were up in the dark sky, like the first night you met Hank and Connor. But you weren't focused on the stars. When you recognized the vehicle you were walking towards, your eyes searched for him. The passenger car door swung open as you neared it.
"Y/N-?" You immediately fell into Connor's chest without a word. You began to cry again. His hand rubbed your back in a comforting manner. You felt so many emotions at once. Every time Connor moved your hair out of your eyes, you were reminded that you were safe.
"What happened?" You eventually felt him look up to his partner. Hank sighed.
"I caught Gavin feelin' her up." He paused. You'd have to thank him later. "Now let's go home." Connor attempted to sit you back down in the back of the car, but you tugged on his white shirt. He seemed to understand what you wanted and sat down beside you. He buckled you and himself in. Hank began to drive back home while you remained alongside the Android. You hugged his side tightly, but not enough to hurt him. If Androids could even feel pain.
"I was so s-scared..." You told him as you felt your dried tears in your cheeks.
"I know." His hand softly rested on your cheek, and he pulled you in closer to him. "It's over now."Wow that was a heavy chapter to write.
And I apologize if it seems like I made Gavin the "villain" in this story, because I know a lot of the fandom loves him. I just think he's a really rude guy, and I don't think he'd actually do something like this. But I can imagine him doing that. And I also needed to strengthen the bond between the reader and Hank.
Until next time!
