May had opened Tony's letter before giving it to Peter, hoping it would say their coming home. But when she read that Steve was hurt, she knew she had to hide it from Peter. He couldn't handle that kind of information yet.

"Any letters?"

"No, not today." May felt bad lying to Peter, but she knew it was the right thing to do.

"Really? It's almost been a month. I hope they're okay. Well, I guess I'm gonna go to bed. Night, May."

"Night, Peter. Sweet dreams." Peter walked to his room, and laid down on his bed. He was so anxious about his dads, he couldn't sleep. He tossed and turned, but he just couldn't do it. He looked at the clock, which read 2 AM. He decided to get up and walk around.

He tiptoed down the halls, trying his best not to wake Aunt May. He went into the kitchen and got a glass of water out of the fridge. While he was standing there drinking his water, he noticed an envelope sticking out from under some magazines. It was Tony's letter. Peter almost dropped his glass on the ground.

Why would May hide this from me? he thought. He began reading the letter and the more he read the more his heart broke. His Pops was hurt. Peter immediately assumed Steve was going to die, and he began to sob. His loud cries woke up May and she bursted into the kitchen. She saw Peter holding the letter in his hand.

"W-why did you h-hide this?" Peter cried.

"Peter, I was going to tell you, it's just I know how hard this is for you, and I didn't want you to worry."

"D-don't ever d-do t-that again."
