“What does she look like?” Ciara asked, crossing her legs as she faced Katherine

“She has black hair, but her eyes stuck out to me. There were emerald, but lifeless.” Katherine said, scratching her cheek

“I think I’ve seen her around, but I’m not certain. I can ask around or I could just search for her, but it may take a while.” Ciara said

“We can search for her now.” Katherine suggested

“And what if she's not here?” Ciara asked

“Then we can search for her around town.” Katherine said

“Okay. Let's get to searching, but will they recognize you, Katherine?”Ciara asked

“No, I was only feature on the magazine once, but nobody recognize me, so were fine. Now, let's go.” Katherine said, grabbing Ciara’s hand and pulling her to the door

“Wait! I have to put my boots on.” Ciara said, yanking her hand out of Katherine’s

“Well, hurry!” Katherine exclaimed

Once Ciara put her boots and coat on, they left the house and walked around Logs to search for that woman, but was interrupted when they saw a group of men cornering young girls.

“We’re friends, right? Let's take this to our place.” Placing his hand on a girls shoulder

“We have to get home.” She squirm underneath his touch

“Some men never learn, do they?” Ciara said, sighing, she looked over at Katherine, but she was gone

“Hey!” Ciara head snap to the voice

Katherine stood behind the guys. One turned around.

“What do you want? You want to have fun too?” He said, a smirk appearing on his face

“I do, but it's a different kind of fun.” Katherine said, a smile appeared

“And what kind of fun do you have in mind?” He said, touching a strand of her hair

Before Katherine could speak, a fist connected with the man’s face. Katherine looked over at her side.

“Rafe, why do you always cause trouble?” The man rubbed his knuckles

“What the hell, Tobias! Do you want to start a fight?” Rafe said, pushing Tobias

“I’ll like to see that.” Tobias said, a smirk appearing

“Katherine, let’s go before we get caught in this mess.” Ciara said, grabbing Katherine’s arm

“But, what about the girls?” Katherine asked, looking at the young girls

“You and your kind heart.” Ciara mumbled, “Come on.”

Ciara and Katherine walked over to the girls where Rafe’s guys were standing in front of them. Ciara walked up to them and hit them in the head with her shoe. ‘When did she do that?’ Katherine stood there, dumbfounded.

“Well, would you look at that? Your friends were taken out by a boot.” Katherine grabbed Ciara and ran off

“I’ll get you for that!”

“What are waiting for!” Ciara yelled, yanking out of Katherine’s hold and running to Rafe

“Ciara!” Katherine yelled, running after her

“Now, I remember why I don’t like the Logs.” Katherine said, soaking a cloth in alcohol

“That boy had it coming. I could’ve hurt him more if you and that boy didn’t pull me off.” Ciara said, rubbing lotion on her leg

“Was mom ever like that?” Katherine asked, pressing the cloth on Ciara's cheek

“F*ck, Katherine! Give me a warning at least.” Ciara yelled, moving away from Katherine

“Well, I have to disinfect the wound, so stay still.” Katherine said, yanking Ciara closer to her

Silence filled the air as Katherine disinfected Ciara’s cuts. Katherine was placing the alcohol back in the container when Ciara grabbed her hand.

“Kat, are you going back?” Ciara asked

“Yeah, but I still have time. Even we still need to find that woman.” Katherine said

“Kat, why don’t you stay here with me?” Ciara said, “It’ll be like old times when Iris dropped you off. We can watch movies, make pastry, and go to Sally’s shop.” Her grip tightening

“Ciara, why are you saying this all of a sudden?” Katherine asked, looking at Ciara

“Your mother placed you in my care and it’s only right that you live with me.” Ciara said, tears welling in her eyes

Katherine yanked her hand out of Ciara’s hold, “Where were you when mom died?” Ciara eyes widened and looked away, “You were gone! You were suppose to be there for me, but you weren’t.”

“Kat, you have to und-”

“Don’t give me a pity explanation of why you weren’t there because I already know, but it seemed it didn’t last long.” Katherine said, glaring at Ciara

“Kat, I didn’t know Iris was seriously ill, but I regret everything. I shouldn’t have left to have the life I always I wanted.” Ciara cried

“I searched for you, Ciara. I even asked around only to find out you had married a rich man and left to his city to live the luxurious life. Do you even know what I went through? I wasn’t me anymore, I was someone else.” Katherine said, her voice cracking

“Kat…”

“But then Julian came and took me in. I never thought my father would be the king. Did you know that? Sure, you did. Mom always told you everything.” Katherine said, a tear sliding down her cheek, “It wasn’t different. Him kept me away from the public, just like mom. You know, I was so curious why she wouldn’t let me out then I found out why. My dad was searching for me while mom hid me away from his sight.” Katherine said

“Kat, it was for your safety. Iris didn’t want you to have the burden of ruling a country.” Ciara said, placing her hand on Katherine’s shoulder

“But, she could’ve at least let me meet my dad.” Katherine said, staring at the cream beige wall

“Katherine, you have to remember you’re the illegitimate child. It was for the best.” Ciara said

“I’m a bastard, Ciara. Everyone calls me that.” Katherine said, looking at Ciara

“No, your not. You’re Katherine Marie Lynch, daughter of Iris Lynch and Julian Rowe.” Ciara said, hugging Katherine

Katherine hugged Ciara back, tears rushing down her face. Ciara rubbed her back as Katherine mentally and emotionally broke down.

“I miss them so much!” Katherine sobbed
